"The Glass House," Casa Materna of the Vallejos

In the 1820's Don Ignacio Vallejo built the Casa Materna on Bolsa de San Cayetano, Don Ignacio and Doña María Antonio Lugo y Vallejo had 13 children—five sons and eight daughters, one of whom was General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo.

1971 register text, presented as a historical document. It uses the period's terms for Native people; the state's landmark listings still carry most of this wording, and the California Office of Historic Preservation maintains the program's current texts.
