Omschrijving
Op het complex van De Papiermolen staan ten oosten van het kleuterbad, op een slingerende, kniehoge, gemetselde bakstenen muur die is afgedekt met een rand van beton, vier buismetalen kunstwerken opgesteld, alle ajour uitgevoerd en ontworpen door Koolhaas: nijlpaard, slang, spuitgast en walvis. Verder zijn twee betonnen "baktafels" aanwezig waarop spelende kinderen met behulp van zand en vormpjes konden "taartjes bakken". De twee "baktafels" fungeren niet meer als zodanig, zijn inmiddels in gebruik als tafeltennistafels en staan ten westen en ten zuidwesten van het kleuterbad opgesteld. De vier kunstwerken en de twee baktafels maken deel uit van de oorspronkelijke inrichting van De Papiermolen.
Waardering
De kunstwerken en speelwerktuigen vertegenwoordigen algemeen belang wegens de cultuurhistorische waarde aangezien eigentijds, modern gedachtegoed over zowel vrijetijdsbesteding als over toegepaste kunst in de objecten tot uitdrukking is gebracht;

Description
On the De Papiermolen complex stand, to the east of the children's pool, on a winding, knee-high, mortared brick wall capped with a concrete edge, four tubular metal artworks, all executed as openwork and designed by Koolhaas: hippopotamus, snake, spitting toy and whale. Furthermore, two concrete "baking tables" are present on which playing children could "bake cakes" using sand and moulds. The two "baking tables" no longer function as such, have since been put to use as table tennis tables and stand to the west and southwest of the children's pool. The four artworks and the two baking tables form part of the original furnishing of De Papiermolen.
