Inleiding
SCHUTSLUIS "Grote Parksluis", de westelijke van twee sluizen die gezamenlijk deel uitmaken van het complex "Parksluizen" tussen de Parkhaven en de Coolhaven.
Omschrijving
De sluis heeft een kolklengte van 128 meter, is 13,60 meter breed, heeft een doorvaartdiepte van 4,65 meter -NAP en is geschikt voor binnenvaartschepen tot circa 2.000 ton. De kolk is opgebouwd uit beton en metselwerk en afgewerkt met graniet. Het schutten vindt plaats via omloopriolen in de beide sluishoofden. Het is mogelijk een verval van 3 meter in 5 minuten te overbruggen. De kolk is afgesloten met een stalen roldeur per sluishoofd, aan twee zijden waterkerend. De omloopriolen worden afgesloten met stalen schuiven. Een schuif bevindt zich ter plaatse van de omloopriolen aan westzijde en twee schuiven ter plaatse van de riolen die door de deurkas lopen. De bediening van de sluis geschiedt vanuit een bedieningsgebouw op zowel het binnenhoofd als het buitenhoofd.

Introduction
LOCK "Grote Parksluis", the western of two locks which together form part of the complex "Parksluizen" between the Parkhaven and the Coolhaven.
Description
The lock has a chamber length of 128 metres, is 13.60 metres wide, has a navigable depth of 4.65 metres -NAP and is suitable for inland cargo vessels up to approximately 2,000 tons. The chamber is constructed of concrete and masonry and finished with granite. Filling and emptying takes place via culverts in both lock gates. It is possible to overcome a head difference of 3 metres in 5 minutes. The chamber is closed with a steel roller gate at each lock gate, water-tight on both sides. The culverts are closed with steel sluices. One sluice is located at the culverts on the west side and two sluices are located at the culverts that run through the gate chamber. The lock is operated from an operating building on both the inner gate and the outer gate.
