Complexonderdeel B: Kleine Parksluis
Inleiding
SCHUTSLUIS "de Kleine Parksluis", de oostelijke van de twee sluizen die gezamenlijk deel uitmaken van het complex "Parksluizen", tussen de Parkhaven en de Coolhaven. De sluis is uitgerust met stalen segmentschuiven, de eerste toepassing van dit door ir. J.F.W. Burky ontworpen afsluitmiddel.
N.B. De kleine sluis wordt tegenwoordig hoofdzakelijk gebruikt voor de pleziervaart.
Omschrijving
De sluis heeft een kolklengte van 125 meter, is 5,95 meter breed en heeft een doorvaartdiepte van 2,90 meter -NAP. De kolk is opgebouwd uit beton en metselwerk en afgewerkt met graniet. De sluis is uitgevoerd met twee stalen segmentschuiven, die draaien om twee vaste assen. Op de bodem zorgt een aanslagbalk op de onderzijde van de schuiven voor de afdichting. De zijaanslagen waarlangs de schuiven bewegen bestaan uit bronzen stroken, die langs gietijzeren slijtplaten glijden. Het schutten vindt plaats door het gedeeltelijk openen van de schuiven.

Complex component B: Kleine Parksluis
Introduction
LOCK "de Kleine Parksluis", the eastern of the two locks which together form part of the complex "Parksluizen", between the Parkhaven and the Coolhaven. The lock is equipped with steel segment gates, the first application of this closure device designed by ir. J.F.W. Burky.
N.B. The small lock is nowadays used mainly for pleasure craft.
Description
The lock has a chamber length of 125 metres, is 5.95 metres wide and has a navigable depth of 2.90 metres -NAP. The chamber is constructed of concrete and masonry and finished with granite. The lock is executed with two steel segment gates, which rotate around two fixed axles. On the bottom, a stop bar on the underside of the gates provides the seal. The side stops along which the gates move consist of bronze strips, which slide along cast-iron wear plates. Filling and emptying takes place by partially opening the gates.
Valuation
Lock "Kleine Parksluis" dating from 1931-1933, of general importance as a historic-functional component of the complex "Parksluizen". Of particular typological importance on account of the segment gates.
