In de nabijheid van de Grote Vijver gelegen TELLEGENBANK, in 1928 opgericht ter herinnering aan ir. J.W.C.Tellegen (1859-1921), directeur Gemeentewerken in de gemeente Arnhem van 1890 tot 1901. Tellegens naam is onverbrekelijk verbonden met de aankoop van Park Sonsbeek aan het einde van de 19de eeuw.
Herinneringsbank, bestaande uit een halfcirkelvormig gemetseld muurtje van paarsbruine, enigszins gesinterde baksteen met een gecementeerde plint en natuurstenen dekplaten. Tegen de binnenzijde van de halve cirkel bevindt zich een uit negen segmenten bestaande houten zitting met rugleuning. De halve cirkel wordt afgesloten door twee natuurstenen elementen, links een rechthoekig blok met opschrift in reliëf in verdiept vlak: 'TER HERINNERING AAN/ IR. J.W.C. TELLEGEN/ DIRECTEUR GEMEENTEWERKEN/ 1890-1901/'; rechts bevindt zich een hoger, cilindervormig blok met een reliëfsculptuur, voorstellend een springend hert, van de hand van de Arnhemse beeldhouwer Gijs Jacobs van den Hof (1889-1965). Vanaf de natuurstenen elementen buigt het gemetselde gedeelte zich trapsgewijs aflopend terug.

Located in the vicinity of the Great Pond, the TELLEGEN BENCH, established in 1928 in memory of Engineer J.W.C. Tellegen (1859-1921), Director of Municipal Works in the municipality of Arnhem from 1890 to 1901. Tellegen's name is inseparably linked with the purchase of Park Sonsbeek at the end of the 19th century.
Memorial bench, consisting of a semi-circular masonry wall of dark purplish-brown, slightly sintered brick with a cemented plinth and natural stone coping slabs. Against the inside of the semi-circle there is a wooden seat with backrest consisting of nine segments. The semi-circle is closed off by two natural stone elements, on the left a rectangular block with inscription in relief in recessed panel: 'IN MEMORY OF/ ENGINEER J.W.C. TELLEGEN/ DIRECTOR OF MUNICIPAL WORKS/ 1890-1901/'; on the right there is a higher, cylindrical block with a relief sculpture depicting a leaping stag, by the hand of Arnhem sculptor Gijs Jacobs van den Hof (1889-1965). From the natural stone elements, the masonry portion curves back in stepped descent.
