Beschrijving onderdeel 5
BEDRIEGERTJES MET SCHELPENWAND, gesitueerd tussen de tweede en derde vijver. De tientallen fonteintjes zijn verborgen in een met wit en zwart ingelegd kiezelplateau, waarin een klaverbladvormig bassin met geschulpte rand met fontein gelegen is. Terwijl deze bedriegertjes en het plateau in 1740 aangelegd zijn, dateert de erachter geplaatste schelpenwand uit 1836-1838. Deze bestaat uit een halfronde nis, geflankeerd door lagere muurtjes op ellipsvormige grondslag, opgebouwd uit beton en bekleed met schelpen en stenen. Enkele sculpturen, vermoedelijk van de hand van Michiel Moser, zijn nog aanwezig: twee leeuwen met wapenschild aan de uiteinden, twee vrouwelijke borstbeelden in het midden en twee staande vrouwelijke figuren ter weerszijden van de nis. In deze met schelpen gesierde nis staat een natuurstenen sokkel met hiervoor een klein bassin met fontein. Aan de bovenzijde van de nis een wit marmeren vierkante zonnewijzerplaat en op de nis een ijzeren weerhaan. In 1996 is het geheel van schelpenwand en plateau met bedriegertjes gerestaureerd.

TRICKLING FOUNTAINS WITH SHELL WALL, situated between the second and third ponds. The dozens of small fountains are hidden in a plateau of pebbles inlaid in white and black, in which a cloverleaf-shaped basin with sculptured edge with fountain is located. Whilst these trickling fountains and the plateau were laid out in 1740, the shell wall placed behind them dates from 1836-1838. This consists of a semicircular niche, flanked by lower walls on an elliptical plan, built of concrete and lined with shells and stones. Several sculptures, presumably by the hand of Michiel Moser, are still present: two lions with shield at the ends, two female busts in the centre and two standing female figures on either side of the niche. In this niche decorated with shells stands a natural stone pedestal with a small basin with fountain in front of it. At the top of the niche a white marble square sundial and on the niche an iron weathervane. In 1996 the whole of the shell wall and plateau with trickling fountains was restored.
