Voormalige LASLOODS, gebouwd in 1952 naar ontwerp van J.D. en A.E.G. Postma, als onderdeel van het complex Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij, oorspronkelijk vrijstaand, gelegen op de noordelijke punt van het terrein van het eerste NSM terrein.
Rechthoekige, hoge industriële hal, die aan de buitenzijde bepaald wordt door gesloten bakstenen gevels met zeer grote blauwe deuren, alsmede vierkante kruisvensters en op de verdieping openingen met luiken; de voor- en achtergevel hebben aan de bovenzijde een liggende vensterpartij onder de dakrand. Het vlakke dak wordt verlevendigd door 4 afgeplatte zadeldaken in de breedterichting die dienst doen als lichtstraten. Aan de kopse kant richting IJ een kleinere, oorspronkelijke aanbouw met kantoren. In de hal is sprake van twee beuken, veroorzaakt door een imposante staalconstructie met gelaste constructiedelen die onderling door schroefbouten met elkaar verbonden zijn. Deze constructie met kraanbanen wordt ondersteund door samengestelde volwandige kolommen, waarboven kleinere kolommen zijn geplaatst ter ondersteuning van de dakconstructie. Description
Former WELDING SHOP, built in 1952 to the design of J.D. and A.E.G. Postma, as part of the complex Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij, originally detached, located on the northern point of the site of the first NSM site.
Rectangular, tall industrial hall, determined on the exterior by closed brick facades with very large blue doors, as well as square cross windows and on the upper storey openings with shutters; the front and rear facades have at the top a horizontal window array below the eaves. The flat roof is enlivened by 4 flattened gabled roofs in the width direction that serve as roof lights. On the gable end facing the IJ a smaller, original extension with offices. In the hall there are two aisles, caused by an imposing steel construction with welded construction components that are interconnected by screw bolts. This construction with crane tracks is supported by composite solid columns, above which smaller columns are placed to support the roof structure. Along the longitudinal facades crane rail beams.
