Inleiding
GROT VAN BETHLEHEM, een kopie naar het oorspronkelijke ontwerp van P. Gerrits, opgericht door Pater B. Kieuwe, nu in gebruik als schaapskooi. Het object is gelegen tussen Nazareth en de tollenaarswoning.
Omschrijving
Het bouwwerk bestaat uit een betonnen, op een onregelmatig grondplan opgetrokken, rotsformatie. De rotsformatie heeft aan de voorzijde openingen waarachter stallen gelegen zijn. Aan de voorzijde bevindt zich links de toegang tot een gang door de rots met halverwege deze gang een centrale ruimte en tenslotte een uitgang aan de rechterzijde van de rots. In de grot de oorspronkelijke gepolychromeerde sculptuur van Piet Gerrits. Deze bestaat uit een voorstelling van Maria met het kind en een liggende slapende Jozef.

GROT VAN BETHLEHEM nu in gebruik als schaapskooi:
- Van cultuurhistorische waarde als essentieel onderdeel van het complex Heilig-Land- Stichting dat een bijzondere en tevens zeldzame uitdrukking vormt van een religieuze ontwikkeling.
- Van architectuurhistorische waarde als essentieel onderdeel van een verzameling gebouwen en objecten in oosterse stijl (qua ontwerp, materiaalgebruik en/of detaillering) die tesamen het complex Heilig-Land-Stichting vormen. Introduction

Description
The structure consists of a concrete rock formation built on an irregular ground plan. The rock formation has openings on the front behind which stalls are located.
