Omschrijving onderdeel V: SCHUUR
Inleiding
Het landgoed De Hoevens werd in 1918 aangekocht door de gebroeders Blomjous uit Tilburg. Tegenover de boerderij met jachtkamer bevindt zich aan de overzijde van de weg een in 1998-1999 gerestaureerde Vlaamse SCHUUR, die tot de zeventiende eeuw of achttiende eeuw kan teruggaan. Nabij de schuur bevinden zich enige oude linden.
Omschrijving
Driebeukige Vlaamse schuur met gepotdekselde wanden en laag aanzettend rieten schilddak. De buitenwanden zijn bij de restauratie opnieuw opgebouwd op een originele fundering, waarbij de in de twintigste eeuw versteende gedeelten gehandhaafd bleven achter de beklamping van nieuwe gepotdekselde en geteerde delen. Inwendig het oorspronkelijke gebint met vijf eenzijdig overstekende ankerbalkgebinten met schoren en verbindingsbalken. Hierop rusten driehoekspanten met gordingen die de nog deels oorspronkelijke sporen dragen.
Waardering
De schuur op het landgoed De Hoevens is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als specimen van de ontwikkeling van de agrarische geschiedenis van Brabant vanaf de vroege middeleeuwen tot in de vroege twintigste eeuw; het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de Vlaamse schuur. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de bouwgeschiedenis. Het heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de samenhang tussen bebouwing en cultuurlandschap.

Introduction
The estate De Hoevens was purchased in 1918 by the brothers Blomjous from Tilburg. Opposite the farmhouse with hunting room is situated on the other side of the road a Flemish BARN which was restored in 1998-1999 and may date from the seventeenth or eighteenth century. Near the barn are situated several old linden trees.
Description
Three-aisle Flemish barn with clay-plastered walls and low-slung thatched hipped roof. The outer walls were rebuilt during restoration on an original foundation, whereby the parts cemented in the twentieth century were retained behind the cladding of new clay-plastered and tarred parts. Internally the original timber framework with five one-sided overhanging anchor-beam frames with braces and connecting beams. Upon these rest triangular trusses with collar-ties which still bear partly original marks.
Valuation
The barn on the estate De Hoevens is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical value as a specimen of the development of agricultural history in Brabant from the early Middle Ages to the early twentieth century; it is also important as an example of the typological development of the Flemish barn. It has architectural-historical value on account of the building history. It has ensemble values on account of the coherence between buildings and cultural landscape.
