Omschrijving onderdeel III: BAKHUIS
Inleiding
Het landgoed De Hoevens, al sinds de Middeleeuwen een pachthoeve van de abdij van Tongerlo, werd in 1918 aangekocht door de gebroeders Blomjous uit Tilburg. Achter een boerderij in Ambachtelijk-Traditionele stijl bevindt zich een BAKHUIS dat mogelijk nog negentiende-eeuws is en in 1993-1994 is gerestaureerd.
Omschrijving
Uit baksteen opgetrokken bakhuis onder zadeldak, gedekt met Oudhollandse pannen. Rechthoekig gebouwtje met twee topgevels met vlechtingen en in de voorgevel een opgeklampte deur. Het ovenlichaam aan de achterzijde is in de oude vorm herbouwd; het heeft een zadeldak en rust op eiken balken. Inwendig de ovendeur en een oude bekapping.
Waardering
Het bakhuis op het landgoed De Hoevens is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als specimen van de ontwikkeling van de agrarische geschiedenis van Brabant vanaf de vroege middeleeuwen tot in de vroege twintigste eeuw; het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het bakhuis. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de bouwgeschiedenis. Het heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de samenhang tussen bebouwing en cultuurlandschap.

Description of component III: BAKEHOUSE
Introduction
The estate De Hoevens, since the Middle Ages a leasehold farm of the abbey of Tongerlo, was purchased in 1918 by the brothers Blomjous from Tilburg. Behind a farmhouse in Craftsman-Traditional style is situated a BAKEHOUSE which may still date from the nineteenth century and was restored in 1993-1994.
Description
Bakehouse constructed of brick under a gabled roof, covered with Old Dutch tiles. Rectangular building with two gables with woven patterns and in the front gable a hinged door. The oven structure at the rear has been rebuilt in the original form; it has a gabled roof and rests on oak beams. Internally the oven door and old interior finish.
Valuation
The bakehouse on the estate De Hoevens is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a specimen of the development of agricultural history in Brabant from the early Middle Ages to the early twentieth century; it is also important as an example of the typological development of the bakehouse. It has architectural-historical value on account of the building history. It has ensemble values on account of the coherence between buildings and cultural landscape.
