Omschrijving onderdeel 2: HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Overvelde.
Het hoofdgebouw ligt centraal in de aanleg en is vanaf de Boxbergerweg bereikbaar via een lange, met bomen beplante toegangslaan, die deel uitmaakt van een formele lanenstructuur uit de 17de of 18de eeuw. Het huis is niet geprojecteerd op de westwaarts gelegen Boxbergerweg, maar noordwestwaarts het bos in. De toegangslaan maakt aan het einde dan ook een bocht om aan de voorzijde van het huis uit te komen. Het landgoed bestaat voornamelijk uit bouwlanden, afgewisseld met bos. Het heeft een uitgesproken agrarisch, wat verschraald karakter. Tussen het huis en de Boxbergerweg ligt de eerdergenoemde formele lanenstructuur uit de late 17de of de vroege 18de eeuw. Deze structuur bestaat uit twee noordzuid georiënteerde lanen (oorspronkelijk drie) en drie dwarslanen daar tussen. De Boxbergerweg en een laan pal ten westen van het hoofdgebouw vormen de noordzuid structuur, de dwarslanen leiden alle naar een erf: de noordelijke naar boerderij 't Nagel ten noorden van het huis, de middelste is de toegangslaan naar het Overvelde en de zuidelijke gaat naar boerderij de Wilgerij ten zuidoosten van het huis. Ten noordoosten van het hoofdgebouw lag lange tijd 'het kabinetje', een hoefijzervormige structuur van een binnen- en een buitengracht. De ruimte tussen de binnen en buitengracht was achtereenvolgens in gebruik als boomgaard, wandelbos en weiland, de binnengracht omsloot een centrale vijver en de buitengracht was aan de noordwestzijde vergraven tot een vijver in de vorm van een 'kuif', zoals deze op kasten voorkomt, vandaar waarschijnlijk de naam 'kabinetje'. Tegenwoordig bevindt zich ter plaatse een wandelbos waarin nog een deel van het grachtenstelsel aanwezig is. De kuifvormige uitstulping is echter van vorm veranderd, omdat de Van Coeverdens aan de binnenzijde een deel van de vijver hebben gedempt om daar een familiegraf te plaatsen.
Waardering
De TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Overvelde is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege het park in landschapsstijl uit circa 1850 met geïntegreerde formele lanenstructuur;
- vanwege ouderdom van een deel van de houtopstand;
- vanwege de aanwezigheid van een grafmonument;

Description of component 2: HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the historic country estate Overvelde.
The main building is centrally located in the layout and is accessible from the Boxbergerweg via a long, tree-lined approach avenue, which forms part of a formal avenue structure from the 17th or 18th century. The house is not oriented towards the westerly Boxbergerweg, but northwest into the woods. The approach avenue therefore takes a bend at the end to arrive at the front of the house. The estate consists mainly of cultivated land, interspersed with woodland. It has a pronounced agrarian, somewhat degraded character. Between the house and the Boxbergerweg lies the aforementioned formal avenue structure from the late 17th or early 18th century. This structure consists of two north-south oriented avenues (originally three) and three cross-avenues between them. The Boxbergerweg and an avenue immediately west of the main building form the north-south structure, the cross-avenues all lead to a farmyard: the northern one to the farmhouse 't Nagel north of the house, the middle one is the approach avenue to Overvelde and the southern one leads to the farmhouse de Wilgerij to the southeast of the house. To the northeast of the main building stood for a long time 'the cabinet', a horseshoe-shaped structure of an inner and outer moat. The space between the inner and outer moat was used successively as an orchard, woodland walk and pasture, the inner moat enclosed a central pond and the outer moat was deepened on the northwest side into a pond in the shape of a 'coiffure', as found on caskets, hence probably the name 'cabinet'. Today there is a woodland walk in its place in which part of the moat system is still present. The coiffure-shaped protrusion has, however, changed shape, because the Van Coeverdens filled in part of the pond on the inside in order to place a family grave there.
