Inleiding
Bouwhuizen behorend tot de historische buitenplaats Slangenburg. Ter weerszijden van het voorplein staan twee min of meer identieke bouwhuizen.

Het westelijke BOUWHUIS, XVII-d, bakstenen gebouw van anderhalve bouwlaag (mezzanine-verdieping) onder schilddak met grijze pannen en enkele dakkapellen met driehoeksfrontons; aan de voorpleinzijde 15 (!) traveeën, van elkaar gescheiden door iets naar voren springende pilastervormige banden in het metselwerk; een even brede band loopt direct onder de daklijst over de gehele lengte van het gebouw; in de aldus gevormde vakken bevinden zich de diverse deuren en ramen van verschillend formaat; alle ramen met meerruits vensters; aan de kasteelzijde verbreedt de kopse gevel zich over enkele meters, waardoor het bouwhuis eigenlijk een haakvormige plattegrond heeft; het dakschild aan de achterkant loopt verlaagd door.

Het westelijke BOUWHUIS van twee bouwhuizen is van algemeen belang:

The western ESTATE BUILDING, XVII-d, brick building of one and a half storeys (mezzanine floor) under a hipped roof with grey tiles and several roof dormers with triangular gables; on the forecourt side 15 (!) bays, separated from each other by slightly projecting pilaster-like bands in the masonry; an equally wide band runs directly below the roof cornice over the entire length of the building; in the compartments thus formed are located the various doors and windows of different sizes; all windows with multi-pane casements; on the castle side the end gable widens over several metres, whereby the estate building actually has an L-shaped floor plan; the roof pitch on the rear side slopes down in a stepped manner.
