Inleiding
FORTWACHTERSWONING, deel uitmakend van het complex Fort aan den Hoek van Holland, in 1881 vóór de oplevering van het fort gebouwd door de Genie in een sobere eclectische stijl.
Omschrijving
Op een rechthoekige plattegrond in rode baksteen opgetrokken, witgepleisterde fortwachterswoning van één bouwlaag en een kapverdieping onder een met zwarte pannen bedekt, uitkragend zadeldak. De woning is gedeeltelijk onderkelderd. De kozijnen van de getoogde deuren en (schuif)vensters zijn van hout. Boven de vensters bevinden zich muurankers met ijzeren rozetten. Aan de oostzijde van de tuin is op de erfafscheiding nog de oorspronkelijke, genummerde kadastersteen aanwezig.
Waardering
Laat negentiende-eeuwse Fortwachterswoning, als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex Fort aan den Hoek van Holland van algemeen belang wegens architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde.

FORT WARDEN'S HOUSE, forming part of the complex Fort aan den Hoek van Holland, built in 1881 before the completion of the fort by the Engineering Corps in a sober eclectic style.
Description
Built on a rectangular plan in red brick, whitewashed fort warden's house of one storey and a roof storey under a saddle roof covered with black tiles and projecting eaves. The house is partially cellared. The frames of the arched doors and (sash) windows are of wood. Above the windows are ornamental wall anchors with iron rosettes. On the east side of the garden, on the boundary fence, the original numbered cadastral marker is still present.
Valuation
Late nineteenth-century Fort Warden's House, as a historically-functional component of the complex Fort aan den Hoek van Holland of general importance because of architectural and cultural historical value.
