Inleiding
Aan elkaar geschakeld geheel van één grote COMMANDANTSWONING en twee kleinere OFFICIERSWONINGEN, onderdeel van het complex Fort aan den Hoek van Holland. De woningen zijn in 1884 door de Genie gebouwd in een sobere eclectische stijl. Tot de oplevering van het fort in 1888 waren hier de ingenieurs betrokken bij de bouw van het fort Maasmond ondergebracht. N.B. De woningen worden thans gebruikt door de Koninklijke Marechaussee.
Omschrijving
Op een talud met uitzicht op het fort gesitueerde rij woningen; oorspronkelijk één grote commandantswoning en twee kleinere officierswoningen. Deze in rode baksteen opgetrokken woningen bestaan uit één bouwlaag en een kapverdieping onder een overstekend, met zwarte pannen gedekt zadeldak. De zij- en achtergevels, plinten, kroon- en cordonlijsten, sluitstenen en gebosseerde hoeklisenen zijn witgepleisterd. De kozijnen van vensters en deuren zijn van hout. De voorgevel heeft rechts een eenvoudige enkele deur met getoogd bovenlicht, geflankeerd door drie getoogde, rechthoekige schuifvensters. Links een identieke deur met links hiervan vier rechthoekige vensters conform de overige vensters in de voorgevel. De gevels hebben ter hoogte van de vensterdorpels een doorlopende cordonlijst. In de zij- en achtergevels zijn boven de vensters muurankers aangebracht. De oostelijke zijgevel heeft in het midden van de begane grond een klein hoog geplaatst rechthoekig kruisvenster, geflankeerd door hoge getoogde vensters, aan de onderzijde vervangen door kleine rechthoekige vensters. Op de verdieping drie hoge rechthoekige vensters. In deze gevel is de tijdens, de bouw gebruikte, ijksteen met de inscriptie '9.50 M + AP' aangebracht. De achtergevel heeft links zes getoogde vensters, gevolgd door een deur, waarna twee getoogde vensters en een getoogd blindvenster.

A terrace of one large COMMANDANT'S HOUSE and two smaller OFFICERS' HOUSES joined together, part of the Fort aan den Hoek van Holland complex. Description
A terrace of houses situated on a slope with a view of the fort; originally one large commandant's house and two smaller officers' houses. These houses, built of red brick, consist of one storey and an attic storey under an overhanging gabled roof covered with black tiles. The side and rear facades, plinths, cornices and string courses, keystones and rusticated corner strips are white rendered. The frames of windows and doors are of wood. The front facade has on the right a simple single door with arched fanlight, flanked by three arched rectangular sash windows. On the left an identical door with four rectangular windows to its left in keeping with the other windows in the front facade. The facades have a continuous string course at the height of the window sills. Ornamental wall anchors have been installed above the windows in the side and rear facades. The eastern side facade has in the middle of the ground floor a small high-placed rectangular cross window, flanked by tall arched windows, the lower parts of which have been replaced by small rectangular windows. On the upper floor three tall rectangular windows. In this facade the benchmark stone with the inscription '9.50 M + AP' used during construction has been installed. The rear facade has on the left six arched windows, followed by a door, then two arched windows and an arched blind window.
Valuation
Commandant's and Officers' Houses built by the Engineers as a historically-functional component of Fort aan den Hoek van Holland of general importance on account of its architectural and cultural-historical value.
