Omschrijving
Het GRAFMONUMENT (klasse 1, vak 35, nr. 23) in oorsprong opgericht in 1862 voor J.W. Pieneman (1779-1853), een bekend historieschilder, zijn vrouw en zijn broer, en verplaatst van de Nieuwezijds Kapel naar de Westerbegraafplaats en vervolgens naar de Nieuwe Ooster. Het monument werd door F. Stracké vervaardigd, met op de hoge, tapse sokkel de portretbuste van de schilder, die door twee putti wordt bekranst.

Description
The GRAVE MONUMENT (class 1, section 35, no. 23) originally erected in 1862 for J.W. Pieneman (1779-1853), a well-known history painter, his wife and his brother, and moved from the Nieuwezijds Chapel to the Westerbegraafplaats and subsequently to the Nieuwe Ooster. The monument was made by F. Stracké, with on the high, tapering base the portrait bust of the painter, which is crowned by two putti.
Valuation
Grave monument for the Pieneman family from 1862, belonging to the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats and as such of general importance due to cultural, artistic and funerary-historical value.
