Omschrijving
In oorsprong in 1880 opgericht GRAFMONUMENT (klasse 2, vak 10a, nr. 1) van toneelspeler J.H. Albregt; in 1898 van de Oude Oosterbegraafplaats naar de Nieuwe verplaatst. Ontwerper van het grafteken was de schilder Charles Rochussen. De beeldhouwer was de in Amsterdam woonachtige Ed. Colinet. Het natuurstenen grafteken bevat een rechthoekige piëdestal met inscriptie, fries met acroterieën en een geprofileerde staande grafsteen met in hoogreliëf een treurende vrouwenfiguur, de muze der kunst met een lauwerkrans in de linkerhand, aan haar rechtervoet een toneelmasker en aan haar linkervoet een bijenkorf onder draperieën. Aan de achterzijde van het grafteken is een overzicht van de toneelstukken weergegeven waarin Albregt glorieerde.

Description
A FUNERARY MONUMENT (class 2, section 10a, no. 1) originally erected in 1880 for actor J.H. Albregt; in 1898 relocated from the Oude Oosterbegraafplaats to the Nieuwe. The designer of the memorial stone was the painter Charles Rochussen. The sculptor was Ed. Colinet, resident in Amsterdam. The natural stone memorial consists of a rectangular pedestal with inscription, frieze with acroteria and a profiled upright gravestone with in high relief a grieving female figure, the muse of art with a laurel wreath in her left hand, at her right foot a theatrical mask and at her left foot a beehive beneath drapery. On the reverse side of the memorial is depicted an overview of the theatrical works in which Albregt triumphed.
Valuation
Funerary monument from 1880 for a nationally renowned actor, belonging to the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats and as such of general interest due to its cultural and funerary-historical value.
