De 41,5 meter hoge WATERTOREN van de Zuidergasfabriek is in 1910-1911 in helderrode baksteen opgetrokken met natuurstenen en in gele siersteen uitgevoerde accenten op een ronde basis naar ontwerp van J.L. Seeuwen in een eclectisch neo-renaissancistische stijl. Natuurstenen jaartalsteen (1910) in dito enkadrering van de hoofdtoegang. De toren heeft een taps verloop met de overkragende reservoirruimte in een tienhoek, bekroond door een tienhoekig koepeldak met lood bekleed, waarop een koepeltorentje op pilasters en een bol met sierlijke bekroning; voorts voorzien van vier wijzerplaten. De detailleringen bevatten onder meer segmentboognissen, bloklijsten, diamantkoppen, boogfriezen en sierbanden; onderaan rondboogvensters, verder rechthoekige vensters.

The 41.5 metre high WATER TOWER of the Zuidergasfabriek was built in 1910-1911 in bright red brick with natural stone and yellow decorative stone executed accents on a round base to the design of J.L. Seeuwen in an eclectic neo-Renaissance style. Natural stone date stone (1910) in matching framing of the main entrance. The tower has a tapering profile with the overhanging reservoir space in a decagon, crowned by a decagonal dome roof clad in lead, on which a small dome tower on pilasters and a sphere with ornate crown; further provided with four clock faces. The detailing includes among others segmental arch recesses, block cornices, diamond bosses, arch friezes and decorative bands; at the base round arch windows, further rectangular windows.

Water tower in eclectic neo-Renaissance style of general importance due to its architectural-historical and typological value, further of importance for the history of technology and as a historically-functional component of the Zuidergasfabriek complex.
