Voormalig METERHUIS, met één hoge bouwlaag ter diepte van zeven traveeën opgetrokken op rechthoekige plattegrond onder leien zadeldak tussen puntgevels in utilitaire eclectische trant. Het gebouw is opgetrokken in baksteen met spaarvelden rondom, lisenen en accenten in natuur- en gele siersteen; de hoge vensters zijn per twee gekoppeld en voorzien van meerruits bovenlichten; in de puntvormige eindgevels klimmend tandfries en één rond venster met glas-in-lood raamvulling; natuurstenen afdekplaten en ronde bekroning met reliëf. Dakkapellen met piron in oorsprong telkens twee per dakvlak. De twee dakkapellen op het ZW-dakvlak zijn recent en vallen buiten de bescherming. Boven de toegang - gelegen aan het kleine binnenterrein tussen regulateurgebouw en meterhuis - bevindt zich een natuurstenen gevelsteen met 'meters'. Aan de korte voorgevel van het gebouw bevindt zich nog een gevelsteen met 'kantoor opzichters'.

Voormalig meterhuis uit 1909-1910 in utilitaire eclectische trant van algemeen belang wegens de architectuurhistorische en typologische waarde, verder van belang voor de historie van de techniek en als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex Zuidergasfabriek.

Description
Former METER HOUSE, with one high storey extending in depth over seven bays erected on a rectangular plan under slate gabled roof between pointed gables in utilitarian eclectic style. The building is erected in brick with spandrels all around, pilaster strips and accents in natural and yellow decorative stone; the high windows are coupled in pairs and provided with multi-pane fanlights; in the pointed end gables rising toothed frieze and one round window with leaded glass filling; natural stone covering plates and round finish with relief. Roof dormers with ridge tiles originally two per roof slope each. The two roof dormers on the south-west roof slope are recent and fall outside the protection. Above the entrance - located on the small inner courtyard between the regulator building and meter house - there is a natural stone plaque with 'meters'. On the short front facade of the building there is a further stone plaque with 'office foremen'.
Valuation
Former meter house from 1909-1910 in utilitarian eclectic style of general importance due to its architectural-historical and typological value, further of importance for the history of technology and as a historically-functional component of the Zuidergasfabriek complex.
