Inleiding
Aan weerszijden van het begin van een lange, door linden omzoomde oprijlaan bevindt zich een gietijzeren hekwerk. Het hekwerk dateert uit XIXc
Omschrijving
Spijlenhekwerk tussen veelhoekige geprofileerde posten van gietijzer. De posten lopen uit in een veelhoekige punt. Tussen de spijlen, die zijn bekroond met een pijlpunt, zijn in smeedijzer de letters gemonteerd die samen de naam van het landgoed "RUWENBERG" vormen. Het hekwerk is zwart geverfd. De letters en punten zijn met een goudkleurige verf behandeld.
Waardering
Het gietijzeren SPIJLENHEKWERK uit XIXc is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, als voorbeeld van een kleinschalig tuinelement behorend bij een landgoed. On either side of the beginning of a long drive lined with lime trees is a cast-iron fence. The fence dates from the 19th century.
Description
Railing fence between polygonal profiled posts of cast iron. The posts taper to a polygonal point. Between the railings, which are crowned with an arrow point, are mounted in wrought iron the letters that together form the name of the estate "RUWENBERG". The fence is painted black. The letters and points are treated with a gold-coloured paint.
Valuation
The cast-iron RAILING FENCE from the 19th century is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a socio-economic development, as an example of a small-scale garden element belonging to an estate. The fence has architectural-historical value because of its completeness and traditional material use. It has typological value as an example of a historic fence.
