Inleiding
PRIEEL, in 1904 in eclectische vormen gebouwd in opdracht van dokter Karel Verzijl naar ontwerp van zijn schoonvader, de Maastrichtse architect J.Kayser. Het vrijstaande prieel bevindt zich aan de zuidzijde van de villa.
Omschrijving
Houten prieel op zeshoekige grondslag onder een met dakleer gedekt tentdak. De onderbouw bestaat uit opgeklampte houten panelen. De bovenbouw is voorzien van grote roedenramen met een twintigruits verdeling. De dakrand, die door middel van smalle houten korbelen iets oversteekt, is voorzien van een geornamenteerde houten sierlijst.
Aan de oostelijke zijde is het prieel open.
Waardering
Het prieel is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaaleconomische ontwikkeling waarbij de gegoede burgerij en de bestuurlijke elite zich in de directe nabijheid van 's-Hertogenbosch aan de uitvalswegen van de kleinere, meer landelijke, plaatsen daaromheen vestigen en daar een landhuis laten bouwen.
Het object is van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en vanwege de kwaliteit van de toegepaste historiserende stijlelementen. Verder heeft het complex ensemblewaarde vanwege de bijzondere samenhang tussen de samenstellende onderdelen en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met de wegen en groenvoorzieningen. Tevens is het van belang vanwege de zeldzaamheid van dergelijke gaaf bewaarde villacomplexen.

Description
Wooden gazebo on a hexagonal ground plan beneath a tent roof covered with roof felt. The substructure consists of clamped wooden panels. The superstructure is furnished with large glazed windows with a twenty-pane glazing bars. The roof edge, which projects slightly by means of narrow wooden corbels, is provided with an ornamented wooden decorative moulding.
On the eastern side the gazebo is open.
Valuation
The gazebo is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of socio-economic development whereby the wealthy bourgeoisie and administrative elite established themselves in the immediate vicinity of 's-Hertogenbosch on the main roads to the smaller, more rural places in the area and had a country house built there.
The object is of architectural-historical importance due to the high quality of the construction and the quality of the historicising style elements applied. Furthermore, the complex has ensemble value due to the particular coherence between its component parts and the historical-spatial relationship with the roads and green spaces.
