Omschrijving onderdeel 2: Vlaamse schuur.
Inleiding
Op het erf achter de langgevelboerderij staat een gepotdekselde en met een rieten schilddak gedekte VLAAMSE SCHUUR. De schuur is in ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl geheel uit hout en riet opgetrokken en draagt streekeigen kenmerken. Datering XVIIIB of XIXA. De Vlaamse schuur is in gebruik als stalling.
Omschrijving
De Vlaamse schuur heeft drie asymmetrische eiken gebinten van rijzige hoogte, waarvan de dekbalk aan één zijde als ankerbalkgebint is uitgevoerd en aan de andere zijde is opgelegd en oversteekt. Sporenkap uit rondhout, deels voorzien van haanhouten. Langsdeel met (vernieuwde) dubbele deeldeuren, waarvoor de rieten kap alleen aan de veldzijde opgelicht is. Ventilatiesleuven met houten schuiven.
Waardering
De Vlaamse schuur is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een kleine, voor West-Brabant zo kenmerkende Vlaamse schuur. Door haar bijzondere constructiewijze heeft de Vlaamse schuur bouwhistorische betekenis. De schuur is van architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de samenhang tussen in- en exterieur, die bovendien een grote mate van gaafheid vertonen; verder vanwege de harmonische verhoudingen en ambachtelijk toegepaste traditionele materialen en vormen. Door de ligging van de schuur bij de langgevelboerderij en de karschop aan een oude verkeersas heeft de schuur een duidelijke ensemblewaarde en markeert zij mede de oude bewoningskern van Oosteind.

On the farmyard behind the long-façade farmhouse stands a pargeted and thatched with a hipped roof FLEMISH BARN. The barn is constructed entirely from timber and thatch in a craftsman-traditional style and bears regional characteristics. Dating second half of the 18th century or first half of the 19th century. The Flemish barn is in use as a stall.
Description
The Flemish barn has three asymmetrical oak timber frames of considerable height, of which the tie beam on one side is executed as an anchor-beam frame and on the other side is laid on and projects beyond. Rafter truss from round timber, partly provided with curved timber pieces. Long side with (renewed) double part-doors, for which the thatch roof is only raised on the field side. Ventilation slots with wooden shutters.
Valuation
The Flemish barn is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as an example of a small Flemish barn so characteristic of West Brabant. Due to its particular construction method the Flemish barn has building-historical significance. The barn is of architectural-historical value because of the coherence between interior and exterior, which furthermore display a high degree of integrity; further because of the harmonious proportions and craftsman-applied traditional materials and forms.
