Omschrijving onderdeel 5: BOUWHUIS (links).
Reeds vanaf de eerste aanleg (ca. 1300) hebben er aan weerszijden van de poort bouwhuizen gestaan. Deze waren oorspronkelijk kleiner. Het huidige bouwhuis maakt in hoofdzaak een 17de-eeuwse indruk en is een vervanging van het oudere, mogelijk met gebruikmaking van oude restanten, b.v. fundamenten. Het bouwhuis bestaat uit één bouwlaag met een met pannen gedekt zadeldak tussen topgevels. Het heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en staat met de rechter gevel tegen het oude poorthuis aan. In oorsprong herbergde het gebouw waarschijnlijk twee woningen, hetgeen aan de indeling van de voorgevel nog afleesbaar is. Thans is dit er één. Het rechter deel heeft rechts een voordeur in het midden met twee roedeverdeelde schuiframen ter linkerzijde en het linkerdeel heeft een voordeur in het midden met aan weerszijden een roedeverdeeld schuifraam, waarvan het rechter vergroot is tot deur. De rechter zijgevel is blind, de linker heeft twee roedeverdeelde schuiframen met luiken en daarboven twee kleinere roedeverdeelde ramen in de top. De achtergevel vertoont een deur met een roedeverdeeld raam en twee grote stalramen, thans als glaspui uitgevoerd, waarvan er waarschijnlijk tenminste één een latere toevoeging is. Op het dak staan twee schoorstenen en geen dakkapellen.

Het linker BOUWHUIS is van algemeen belang:

Description of component 5: FARM BUILDING (left).
Since the original layout (circa 1300) there have been farm buildings on either side of the gate. These were originally smaller. The current farm building is essentially 17th-century in appearance and is a replacement of the older one, possibly using old remains, such as foundations. The farm building consists of one storey with a gabled roof (saddle roof) covered with tiles between stepped gables. It has a rectangular floor plan and stands with its right gable against the old gate house. In origin the building probably housed two dwellings, which can still be read in the arrangement of the front façade. Now it is one. The right section has a front door on the right in the middle with two glazing-bar sash windows to the left of it and the left section has a front door in the middle with a glazing-bar sash window on each side, of which the right one is enlarged to a door. The right side gable is blind, the left one has two glazing-bar sash windows with shutters and above them two smaller glazing-bar windows in the apex. The rear façade displays a door with a glazing-bar window and two large stable windows, now executed as glass fronts, of which probably at least one is a later addition. On the roof stand two chimneys and no roof dormers.
