Omschrijving onderdeel 2: HISTORISCHE PARK- EN TUINAANLEG.
Hoewel het huis door de eeuwen heen als buitenhuis gebruikt is geweest, heeft het zich niet tot een grootschalige buitenplaats ontwikkeld in de meer gebruikelijke trant met een uitvoerige (sier)tuinaanleg en daaruit voortkomende tuinornamenten en/of -bebouwing. Hiertegenover staat dat daardoor de oorspronkelijke middeleeuwse aanleg in feite nauwelijks gewijzigd is en het complex met zijn bijgebouwen een zeer oorspronkelijke, oude indruk maakt. De dispositie van de gebouwen, hoewel deze later vergroot zijn, is nog dezelfde als die van omstreeks 1300. Tot deze oorspronkelijke opzet hoort ook de oprijlaan en de eveneens later vergrote slotgracht met het eiland. De oprijlaan van het poortgebouw naar de boerderij is in de 17de eeuw uitgebreid met een dwarslaan naar de nieuwe ingang in de zuidvleugel van het hoofdhuis. Uit 18de-eeuwse prenten wordt duidelijk dat er waarschijnlijk een bescheiden formele aanleg of beplanting geweest moet zijn, maar hiervan is niets terug te vinden. Rond het midden van de 19de eeuw is ten noorden van de slotgracht een klein wandelbos in landschappelijke trant aangelegd. Hiermee werd het lanenstelsel uitgebreid met een rondgaande laan met een gebogen verloop. Deze laan loopt rond een klein hol gazon. De slotgracht is toen opnieuw vergroot en verkreeg daardoor het aangezicht van een forse, landschappelijke vijver.

De HISTORISCHE PARK- EN TUINAANLEG is van algemeen belang:

Description component 2: HISTORIC PARK AND GARDEN LAYOUT.
Although the house was used as a country residence throughout the centuries, it did not develop into a large-scale country estate in the more usual manner with an elaborate ornamental garden layout and resulting garden ornaments and/or structures. In contrast to this, the original medieval layout has been scarcely modified and the complex with its outbuildings makes a very original, ancient impression. The disposition of the buildings, although these were later enlarged, is still the same as that from around 1300. This original design also includes the approach drive and the moat which was likewise later enlarged with the island. The approach drive from the gate building to the farm was extended in the 17th century with a cross lane to the new entrance in the south wing of the main house. From 18th-century prints it becomes clear that there probably must have been a modest formal layout or planting, but nothing of this is to be found. Around the middle of the 19th century a small pleasure wood in landscape style was laid out north of the moat. With this the lane system was extended with a circulating drive with a curved course. This drive runs around a small sunken lawn. The moat was then enlarged again and thereby acquired the appearance of a substantial landscape pond.
