Omschrijving van onderdeel 3: POORTGEBOUW.
Het poortgebouw dateert van omstreeks 1300. De oorspronkelijke ontsluiting tot het goed bevond zich aan de laan die langs de zuidzijde loopt. Dwars hierop liep de toegangslaan naar de oostzijde van het huis, dat oorspronkelijk aan die zijde zijn toegang had. Deze toegangslaan werd van ouds gemarkeerd door een poortgebouw, waarvan de resten in de vorm van zwaar muurwerk van de buitengevels nog aanwezig is. Deze zijn uit zware baksteen opgetrokken en hebben in oorsprong vermoedelijk een balken zolder met enige kapvorm gehad. Deze afdekking is reeds lang verdwenen, evenals een gemetselde top met boog die in later tijd aangebracht is geweest. Het muurwerk vertoont aan beide zijden een grote en een kleine rondboog nis. Tegen de buitenzijden van deze muren staan de bouwhuizen. Deze gaan waarschijnlijk terug op reeds in de middeleeuwen aanwezige bouwwerken, maar maken thans in hoofdzaak een 17de-eeuwse indruk.

Description
Description of component 3: GATE BUILDING.
The gate building dates from around 1300. The original access to the estate was on the lane that runs along the south side. Across this ran the access drive to the east side of the house, which originally had its entrance on that side. This access drive was traditionally marked by a gate building, of which the remains in the form of heavy brickwork of the outer facades are still present. These are built of heavy brick and originally probably had a timber floor with some roof form. This covering has long since disappeared, as has a brick gable with an arch that was added at a later time. The brickwork shows on both sides a large and a small round-arched niche. Against the outer sides of these walls stand the outbuildings. These probably go back to structures already present in the Middle Ages, but currently make mainly a 17th-century impression.
