Inleiding
MOLEN MET AANBOUW.
De als stellingmolen uitgevoerde achtkante molen met de naam 'De Weert' was in 1807 gebouwd en ingericht als pelmolen, runmolen en korenmolen. Die molen is omstreeks 1937 onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap, het houten bovenachtkant, de stelling en het gaande werk werden verwijderd. Het molenrestant kreeg een functie als opslagruimte. Als gevolg van een locaal initiatief kon tot herstel van deze molen worden overgegaan. Zodoende werd het onderachtkant in 1998 - 1999 weer voorzien van een houten achtkant en wel van de voormalige koren- en pelmolen uit het buurtschap Schuilenburg nabij Hellendoorn. De molen werd vervolgens voorzien van een nieuwe kap en een nieuw gaande werk. De molen met bijbehorende schuren ligt aan het riviertje de Reest.
Omschrijving
Het staande werk van de molen bestaat uit een gemetselde bakstenen onderachtkant, met daarop een houten achtkant met stelling, een houten kap en een tegen drie velden aansluitende houten aanbouw. De uit zes bouwlagen bestaande molen is vanaf de duisplanken gedekt met riet. De aanbouw is voorzien van een lessenaarsdak dat concentrisch tegen drie velden van het onderachtkant aansluit en gedekt is met dakpannen. De molen is ingericht als maalvaardige koren- en runmolen. De runstenen oorspronkelijk en dateren nog uit de tijd van vóór de onttakeling van de molen. De molen is voorzien van een gietijzeren bovenas en gelaste stalen roeden die voorzien zijn van fokwieken met remkleppen.
Waardering
Het onderachtkant met aanbouw is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een achtkante pel-, run- en korenmolen uit het begin van de 19e eeuw;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Drenthe en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege ensemblewaarden van de molen en de aanbouw;
- vanwege situationele waarden betreffende de historische gaafheid van de omgeving.
Het hergebruikte houten bovenachtkant is van algemeen belang vanwege bouwtechnisch historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante koren- en pelmolen die gefunctioneerd heeft in Schuilenburg.

- because of situational values concerning the historic integrity of the surroundings.
The reused wooden upper eight-sided section is of general importance because of building-historical values as a recognisable and representative relic of a wooden eight-sided grain and hulling mill which functioned in Schuilenburg.
