Omschrijving onderdeel 9: BADHUISJE
Even ten noorden van de oprijlaan gelegen voormalig badhuisje, thans als stal in gebruik, op het complex historische buitenplaats Berkenrode. Bij de landschappelijke aanleg, na 1797, werd ter plaatse van de huidige vijver een ovale zwemkom gegraven, waarbij het badhuisje dienst deed als verkleedruimte. Het is een eenvoudig witgepleisterd gebouwtje met een lessenaarsdak. De zijde aan de kant van het water wordt geleed door lisenen, waarboven oorspronkelijk 18de-eeuwse borstbeelden van vrouwenfiguren. Deze zijn thans verdwenen. De vijver vertoont globaal nog de ovale vorm, tijdens baggerwerkzaamheden in het voorjaar van 1991 zijn gemetselde resten van het zwembad teruggevonden.
Waardering
Het badhuisje is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege het architectuurhistorisch belang als zeldzaam voorbeeld van dit gebouwtype;

Description
Description component 9: BATHING PAVILION
Former bathing pavilion situated just north of the approach drive, now in use as a barn, on the complex of historic country house Berkenrode. At the time of the landscape layout, after 1797, an oval swimming basin was dug at the site of the present pond, with the bathing pavilion serving as a changing room. It is a simple whitewashed small building with a lean-to roof. The side facing the water is articulated by pilasters, above which originally stood 18th-century busts of female figures. These have since disappeared. The pond still shows roughly the oval form; during dredging operations in the spring of 1991 masonry remains of the swimming pool were found.
Valuation
The bathing pavilion is of general importance:
- because of its architectural-historical significance as a rare example of this building type;
- because of its garden-historical significance because of its place in the layout in relation to the pond (swimming basin) and the sightline from the main house.
