Omschrijving onderdeel 6: BEELDENGROEP
Beeldengroep op het complex historische buitenplaats Berkenrode. Aan de zuidzijde van het tot villa verbouwde koetshuis bevindt zich thans een gazon. Aan het einde hiervan zijn, dus op een niet oorspronkelijke plaats, drie beelden in een groep opgesteld. Deze groep bestaat uit een marmeren Leda met zwaan, vermoedelijk laat 18de-eeuws op een oudere Lodwijk XV sokkel van zandsteen. Dit beeld wordt geflankeerd door twee marmeren allegorische (jacht) kindergroepen, gedateerd 1728 en 1729, gesigneerd Ml (Michel) Sheen, op zandstenen sokkel in Lodewijk XIV stijl.

De BEELDENGROEP is van algemeen belang:

Description component 6: SCULPTURE GROUP
Sculpture group on the complex of historic country house Berkenrode. On the south side of the country house that has been converted into a villa stands a lawn. At the end of this, thus in a non-original location, three sculptures are arranged in a group. This group consists of a marble Leda with Swan, presumably late 18th-century on an older Louis XV sandstone plinth. This sculpture is flanked by two marble allegorical (hunting) groups of children, dated 1728 and 1729, signed Ml (Michel) Sheen, on a sandstone plinth in Louis XIV style.
Valuation
The SCULPTURE GROUP is of general importance:
- because of their art-historical significance, stylistically characteristic of the period of their creation;
- the two groups of children are of importance because of their place in the oeuvre of M. Sheen;
