Omschrijving onderdeel 3: TOEGANGSHEK
Toegangshek uit ca. 1800 van het complex historische buitenplaats Berkenrode bestaande uit twee gemetselde pijlers met inspringende hoeken en een bekroning met natuurstenen vazen. Tussen de pijlers draaien de van een eenvoudige decoratie voorziene ijzeren hekvleugels. De beëindiging van de pijlers bestaat uit een natuurstenen geprofileerde dekplaat waarin de naam BERKEN - RODE is aangebracht. Hierop staan twee forse vierkante vazen op een gedecoreerde voet en voorzien van een bekroning.
Waardering
Het toegangshek is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- zijn functionele en decoratieve waarde voor de buitenplaats;
- vanwege de ensemble waarde in relatie tot de aanpalende bebouwing (hoofdhuis, koepel e.d.).

Description
Description component 3: ENTRANCE GATE
Entrance gate dating from ca. 1800 of the complex of historic country house Berkenrode consisting of two masonry piers with recessed corners and a finial with natural stone vases. Between the piers the iron gate leaves, provided with simple decoration, swing. The termination of the piers consists of a natural stone profiled coping plate on which the name BERKEN - RODE is inscribed. Upon it stand two substantial square vases on a decorated base and provided with a finial.
Valuation
The entrance gate is of general importance because of:
- its functional and decorative value for the country house;
- because of the ensemble value in relation to the adjoining buildings (main house, rotunda, etc.).
