Omschrijving onderdeel 4: BOOGBRUG
Boogbrug behorende bij het complex historische buitenplaats Berkenrode. Deze brug is herkenbaar op de ongedateerde vogelvluchtkaart van de aanleg die na 1691 is ontstaan. De gemetselde boogbrug is in oorsprong vroeg 18de-eeuws en ligt over het voormalige grand canal. De oorspronkelijke rechte 18de-eeuwse toegangslaan is bij de aanleg van de landschappelijke verlegd tot de huidige gekromde laan, die echter wel op de oorspronkelijke brug aansluit. Het metselwerk is in de 20ste eeuw vernieuwd. Aan beide zijden van de brug zijn later (XX) korte pijlers gemetseld. Het westelijke paar heeft Lodewijk XIV dekplaten, waarop siervazen uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw. De vazen staan op een voet en hebben op de rand een versiering van satermaskers en appels. Het oostelijke paar heeft een beëindiging in Lodewijk XIV trant met een pijnappel als bekroning. Het gietijzeren balusterhek dat de pijlers verbindt is 18de-eeuws.

Description component 4: ARCHED BRIDGE
Arched bridge belonging to the complex of historic country house Berkenrode. This bridge is recognizable on the undated bird's-eye view map of the layout that came into being after 1691. The masonry arched bridge is originally early 18th-century and spans the former grand canal. The original straight 18th-century approach drive was relocated at the time of the landscape layout to the present curved drive, which however does connect to the original bridge. The masonry was renewed in the 20th century. On both sides of the bridge short piers were later (XX) built in masonry. The western pair has Louis XIV coping plates, on which decorative vases from the second half of the 19th century. The vases stand on a base and have on the rim a decoration of satyr masks and apples. The eastern pair has a termination in the Louis XIV manner with a pineapple as finial. The cast-iron balustrade fence connecting the piers is 18th-century.
