KLEIBEREIDINGSLOODS met machinerie (molengebouw) uit 1918 en 1948 gebouwd in Traditioneel Ambachtelijke bouwstijl met kleine aanbouwen waaronder een smederij.
Omschrijving
Loods vanaf een vierkante plattegrond over een bouwlaag met zolderverdieping opgetrokken in rode baksteen met sierbanden van gele verblendsteen. Het iets overstekende zadeldak is gedekt met kruispannen (oorspronkelijk rode en gesmoorde Hollandse pannen) en heeft een makelaar. In de voorgevel (zuid) zijn twee segmentboogvormige deuren geplaatst met daartussen twee vierruits vensters. Ter plaatse van de zolderverdieping twee staande muuropeningen en een vernieuwd venster. In de oostelijke zijgevel zijn ontluchtingsroosters geplaatst. Inwendig een staalconstructie.
Aan de achterzijde is het gebouw uitgebouwd in rode baksteen onder een plat dak met een opbouw eveneens onder een plat dak. In de gevel zijn onder de daklijst vier zesruits vensters geplaatst, de opbouw heeft een drielicht venster. Inwendig een betonconstructie.Vanaf de zijgevel op verdiepingshoogte een houten loopbrug naar de droogloods.
Tegen de westgevel drie kleine aanbouwen van verschillende maat en hoogte, allen in baksteen onder met pannen gedekte zadeldaken. Aan de noordzijde bevindt zich de laat 19de-eeuwse smederij met in de kopse gevel een dubbele deur met bovenlicht en links daarvan een meerruitsvenster en in de top een rond venster; in de zijgevel vier gietijzeren rondboogvensters.
Waardering
De kleibereidingsloods is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde - als onderdeel van de laatste nog in gebruik zijnde pannenfabriek aan de Rijndijk; - vanwege de beeldbepalende ligging aan de Rijndijk; - vanwege de functionele waarde als centrum van het kleibereidingsproces; - vanwege de smederij; - wegens de ensemble- en stedenbouwkundige waarde voortkomend uit de ruimtelijke en functionele verbondenheid met het beeld bepalend gesitueerde fabriekscomplex.

CLAY PREPARATION SHED with machinery (mill building) built in 1918 and 1948 in Traditional Artisanal building style with small annexes including a smithy.
Description
Shed erected on a square floor plan over one storey with mezzanine constructed in red brick with decorative bands of yellow facing brick. The slightly overhanging gabled roof is covered with bond tiles (originally red and smoked Dutch tiles) and has a ridge ornament. In the front gable (south) are two segment-arched doors placed with between them two four-light windows. At the level of the mezzanine two standing wall openings and a renewed window. In the eastern side gable are ventilation grilles placed. Internally a steel structure.
At the rear the building is extended in red brick under a flat roof with an outbuilding likewise under a flat roof. In the gable are four six-light windows placed below the eaves line, the outbuilding has a three-light window. Internally a concrete structure. From the side gable at storey height a wooden footbridge to the drying shed.
Against the west gable three small annexes of different size and height, all in brick under gabled roofs covered with tiles. On the north side is located the late 19th-century smithy with in the end gable a double door with fanlight and to its left a multi-light window and in the apex a round window; in the side gable four cast-iron round-arched windows.
Valuation
The clay preparation shed is of general importance because of its cultural- and architectural-historical value - as part of the last still operational tile factory on the Rijndijk; - because of its visually defining location on the Rijndijk; - because of its functional value as centre of the clay preparation process; - because of the smithy; - because of the ensemble and urban-planning value resulting from the spatial and functional connection with the visually defining situated factory complex.
