Inleiding complexonderdeel 2
Cluster van gebouwen, grenzend aan de achterzijde het het Nieuwe Gebouw en de turf en kolenloods, bestaande uit KANTOOR, voormalig OVENGEBOUW en een bakstenen LOODS en een DROOGLOODS behorende bij Nieuw Werklust Kleiwarenfabriek gebouwd in verschillende tijdsvlakken. Eén van de oudste onderdelen van het complex wordt gevormd door het voormalige ovengebouw uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw in Traditioneel Ambachtelijke bouwstijl.
Omschrijving
Op de hoek het bakstenen in staand verband gemetselde kantoorgebouw van drie bouwlagen onder een met OudHollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak. Dit gebouw is oorspronkelijk als woonhuis gebouwd. Afgeschuinde hoek aan voorzijde; gevelindeling met rechtgesloten vensters deels voorzien van glas-in-lood in de bovenlichten.
Voormalig ovengebouw over twee bouwlagen opgetrokken in rode baksteen onder een met Hollandse pannen gedekt mansardedak. De zichtbare gevel (zuid) heeft drie vensterassen waarin grote meerruits vensters zijn geplaatst onder getoogde strekkenbogen. Een opgeklampte rechtgesloten deur biedt toegang tot het pand. Inwendig een onbeschoten kap; het gebouw loopt over in aangrenzende panden.
Rechts hiervan een bakstenen in staand verband gemetselde loods van twee bouwlagen onder een plat dak. in de zijgevel op de begane grond enkele houten deuren, op de verdieping uiterst links een luik en verder vier rechthoekige vensters. Inwendig een staalconstructie.
Aansluitend een houten droogloods van twee bouwlagen onder een met gesmoorde kruispannen gedekt zadeldak. Wanden met jaloezieroosters. Inwendig een houten spantenconstructie.
Waardering
Het gebouwencluster is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde: -als onderdeel van de laaste nog in gebruik zijnde kleiwarenfabriek aan de Rijndijk. - vanwege de ouderdom en vormgeving van het voormalige ovengebouw; - wegens de ensemble- en stedenbouwkundige waarde als onderdeel van het beeld bepalend gesitueerde fabriekscomplex waarmee het zowel ruimtelijke als functioneel verbonden is.

Cluster of buildings, adjoining at the rear the New Building and the peat and coal shed, consisting of OFFICE, former KILN BUILDING and a brick SHED and a DRYING SHED belonging to Nieuw Werklust Clay Products Factory built in different periods. One of the oldest components of the complex is formed by the former kiln building from the second half of the 19th century in Traditional Craft building style.
Description
On the corner a brick building laid in stretcher bond consisting of three storeys under a gabled roof covered with Old Dutch tiles. This building was originally built as a residence. Chamfered corner at the front; façade division with fixed windows partly provided with leaded lights in the fanlights.
Former kiln building erected over two storeys in red brick under a mansard roof covered with Dutch tiles. The visible façade (south) has three window bays in which large multi-pane windows are placed under arched relieving arches. An affixed fixed door provides access to the property. Internally an exposed roof truss structure; the building continues into adjacent properties.
To the right of this a brick shed laid in stretcher bond consisting of two storeys under a flat roof. In the side façade on the ground floor several wooden doors, on the upper floor an outhouse at the far left and further four rectangular windows. Internally a steel structure.
Adjoining a wooden drying shed of two storeys under a gabled roof covered with damped cross tiles. Walls with jalousie grilles. Internally a timber truss structure.
Valuation
The building cluster is of general interest because of its cultural-historical value: - as part of the last still operating clay products factory on the Rijndijk. - because of the age and design of the former kiln building; - because of the ensemble and urban planning value as part of the image-determining situated factory complex with which it is both spatially and functionally connected.
