FABRIEKSHAL, het 'Nieuwe Gebouw' genoemd, behorende bij Nieuw Werklust Kleiwarenfabriek gebouwd in 1937 in een gematigde Functionalistische stijl. De hal werd oorspronkelijk gebruikt voor de fabricage en het drogen van draineerbuizen, later ook voor het drogen van dakpannen.
Omschrijving
Fabriekshal vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond over vier bouwlagen opgetrokken in baksteen, gewapend beton en gasbeton onder een plat dak. In de zuidelijke gevel bevinden zich op iedere verdieping geschakelde vierlicht vensters. Op iedere verdieping is tevens een houten dubbel luik geplaatst. Het pand heeft een kleine opbouw onder een plat dak. Bovendien steekt uit het dak een 19de-eeuwse ronde in rode baksteen opgemetselde schoorsteenpijp (van een ouder gebouw) versierd met patronen in gele verblendsteen. Inwendig staan op de begane grond twee zogenoemde 'rijnovens'; in de verdiepingen erboven bevinden zich de stellingen waarop op de kleiwaren te drogen werden gelegd.
Waardering
De fabriekshal met schoorsteenpijp is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde: - als onderdeel van de laatste nog in gebruik zijnde kleiwarenfabriek aan de Rijndijk; - vanwege de vormgeving in sobere Functionalistische stijl en het materiaalgebruik; - wegens de ensemble- en stedenbouwkundige waarde van de fabriekshal met de schoorsteenpijp komt voort uit de ruimtelijke en functionele verbondenheid met het beeld bepalend gesitueerde fabriekscomplex.

FACTORY HALL, called the 'New Building', belonging to Nieuw Werklust Clay Products Factory built in 1937 in a moderated Functionalist style. The hall was originally used for the manufacture and drying of drainage pipes, later also for the drying of roof tiles.
Description
Factory hall from a rectangular ground plan erected over four storeys in brick, reinforced concrete and gas concrete under a flat roof. In the southern façade on each storey linked four-light windows are located. On each storey also a wooden double shutter is placed. The property has a small structure under a flat roof. Moreover protruding from the roof is a 19th-century round chimney stack built up in red brick (from an older building) decorated with patterns in yellow decorative brick. Internally on the ground floor stand two so-called 'Rhine kilns'; on the storeys above are located the shelves on which the clay wares were laid to dry.
Valuation
The factory hall with chimney stack is of general interest because of its cultural- and architectural-historical value: - as part of the last still operating clay products factory on the Rijndijk; - because of the design in sober Functionalist style and the material use; - because of the ensemble and urban planning value of the factory hall with the chimney stack which results from the spatial and functional connection with the image-determining situated factory complex.
