Inleiding
GRAF kinderen de Beer-Eras uit 1899. Van het graf, genummerd E/15, is de maker onbekend.
Het graf is gemaakt voor: Joanna Anna Josephina Maria de Beer (* 2-8-1896 + 2-1-1899) en Jan de Beer (*11-9-1897 +11-3-1900) kinderen van Lambertus de Beer fabrikant (*1867 +1931) en Theresia Eras (*1870 +1957).
Omschrijving
Het graf bestaat uit een keramisch beeld van een slapend engeltje op een kussen, met papaverbolletjes in de rechterhand. De sokkel is van hardsteen en draagt aan de voor-, linker- en rechterzijde een witmarmeren plaat met de grafteksten. Een identiek engeltje bevindt zich op de begraafplaats aan de St. Josephstraat.
Waardering
Het object is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme in de negentiende eeuw, in het bijzonder de stichting van kerken ter plaatse van oudere schuurkerken en de katholieke grafcultuur. Description
The grave consists of a ceramic sculpture of a sleeping cherub on a pillow, with poppy seed heads in the right hand. The base is of hardstone and carries on the front, left and right side a white marble plate with the grave inscriptions. An identical cherub is located on the graveyard on the St. Josephstraat.
Valuation
The object is of general importance. It has cultural-historical significance as a special expression of the development of Catholicism in the nineteenth century, in particular the establishment of churches in place of older barn churches and Catholic grave culture.
