Inleiding
Kapel, gebouwd in een Expressionistische stijl in 1933 naar ontwerp van C. Panis. De kapel is thans in gebruik als geluidsstudio.
Omschrijving
Het middenschip is de hoogste en breedste bouwmassa, het telt vier traveen. Het koor daarachter is iets smaller en lager en recht gesloten. Ook voor het middenschip staan enkele lagere en smallere delen van de kapel. Het geheel is uitgevoerd in baksteen en heeft verspringende paraboolvormige daken,gedekt met romaanse pannen. De daken zijn voorzien van forse lijstgoten. De viering wordt bekroond door een vierkante vieringstoren met gebogen spits. De voorgevel heeft een houten dubbele deur. In de zijgevels en achtergevel zijn smalle driehoekige ramen aangebracht, voorzien van ladder-roeden. In de topgevel achter is een kruis in het metselwerk aangebracht. Tegen de linkerzijgevel zijn diverse blokvormige aanbouwen gezet, deze zijn steeds n laag hoog en hebben een plat dak.
Inwendig wordt het schip overwelfd door spitsbooggewelven. De wanden zijn uitgevoerd in schoon metselwerk. In het interieur zijn delen van de oorspronkelijke inrichting bewaard gebleven. Zoals een gedeelte van de veelkleurige tegelvloer en glas-in-lood ramen.
Waardering
De voormalige kapel is van algemeen belang als onderdeel van een ensemble met cultuurhistorische waarden. Het geheel is van cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van de sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de zorg voor onderwijs en caritas door katholieke congregaties en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het kleinschalige congregatieklooster. The central nave is the highest and broadest structural mass, comprising four bays. The choir behind it is somewhat narrower and lower and straight-ended. In front of the central nave stand some lower and narrower parts of the chapel. The whole is executed in brick and has offset parabola-shaped roofs, covered with Roman tiles. The roofs are furnished with substantial gutter mouldings. The crossing is crowned by a square crossing tower with curved spire. The front facade has a wooden double door. In the side and rear facades are narrow triangular windows, provided with ladder glazing bars. In the rear stepped gable is a cross worked into the brickwork. Against the left side facade are various block-shaped extensions, these are always one storey high and have a flat roof.
Internally the nave is vaulted with pointed-arch vaults. The walls are executed in fair-faced brickwork. In the interior some of the original furnishings have been preserved. Such as a portion of the multi-coloured tile floor and stained-glass windows.
Valuation
The former chapel is of general importance as part of an ensemble with cultural-historical values.
