Inleiding.
Op de 'kinderafdeling' van de katholieke begraafplaats aan de Bredaseweg staat het GRAFMONUMENT voor G.L.F.W. Mutsaerts, omstreeks 1901 vervaardigd door L. Petit.
Omschrijving.
Grafmonument bestaande uit een gebeeldhouwde figuur op een rotspartij. Op een hardstenen basis is een witmarmeren gebeeldhouwde rotspartij geplaatst waarop op de voorzijde tevens enkele bloemenranken en een cartouche. Op het cartouche het opschrift 'Gustave / Louis / Frans / Willem'. Op de rotspartij een boomkruis met aan de voet eikenbladeren Een kleine engel, met het hoofd opgeheven, hangt met twee handen een lauwerkrans om het kruis. Op de basis het opschrift'Geb. 31 aug. 1901 / overl. 21 nov. 1901'. Rechtsonder de signatuur 'L. Petit'.
Waardering.
Het monument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de katholieke grafcultuur en tevens vanwege de typologie en de uniciteit van het object. Bovendien is het van belang als onderdeel van een groter geheel dat cultuurhistorisch, architectuurhistorisch en stedenbouwkundig van belang is als de eerste katholiekenbegraafplaats in Tilburg.

On the 'children's section' of the Catholic cemetery on the Bredaseweg stands the GRAVE MONUMENT for G.L.F.W. Mutsaerts, made circa 1901 by L. Petit.
Description.
Grave monument consisting of a sculptured figure on a rockery. On a hardstone base a white marble sculptured rockery has been placed, on the front of which are also some flower scrolls and a cartouche. On the cartouche the inscription 'Gustave / Louis / Frans / Willem'. On the rockery a tree cross with oak leaves at its foot. A small angel, with head raised, hangs a laurel wreath around the cross with two hands. On the base the inscription 'Born 31 Aug. 1901 / died 21 Nov. 1901'. Lower right the signature 'L. Petit'.
Valuation.
The monument is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of social and spiritual development, in particular Catholic burial culture, and also because of the typology and uniqueness of the object. Moreover, it is of significance as part of a larger whole that is of cultural-historical, architectural-historical and urban-planning importance as the first Catholic cemetery in Tilburg.
