Inleiding.
Op de katholieke begraafplaats aan de Bredaseweg bevindt zich het GRAFMONUMENT voor de op 9 oktober 1933 overleden Anna Wouters. Het is ontworpen door A. van Os. Het ontwerp werd in Het Gildenboek (1935) bejubeld daar het de gebruikelijke vormgeving voor grafmonumenten niet volgde.
Omschrijving.
Het geheel in zwart graniet uitgevoerd grafmonument bestaat uit een lage, getrapte dekplaat waarop twee, met de kruisarmen tegen elkaar geplaatste kruisen. Op de kruisingen van deze twee kruisen een diamantkop. Op beide diamantkoppen rust de voet van een granieten kruis waarvan het hoofd rust op een opstand aan het hoofdeinde. Op deze opstand, over het kruishoofd, een boog met het uitgespaarde opschrift 'Myn verlosser leeft'. Op het kruis het opschrift 'Anna Wouters / *12 juli 1882* / +9 oct. 1933+'.
Waardering.
Het monument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de katholieke grafcultuur; is van belang vanwege de bijzondere typologische ontwikkeling en de innovatieve waarde welke werd verwoord door het gezaghebbende katholieke tijdschrift Het Gildenboek; het is van belang als onderdeel van een groter geheel dat cultuurhistorisch, architectuurhistorisch en stedenbouwkundig van belang is als eerste katholieke begraafplaats in Tilburg.

The grave monument, entirely executed in black granite, consists of a low stepped cover plate on which two crosses placed with their cross-arms against each other. On the intersections of these two crosses a diamond head. On both diamond heads rests the foot of a granite cross of which the head rests on an elevation at the head end. On this elevation, over the cross head, an arch with the inscription carved out 'Myn verlosser leeft'. On the cross the inscription 'Anna Wouters / *12 juli 1882* / +9 oct. 1933+'.
Valuation.
The monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of a social and spiritual development, in particular Catholic funeral culture; is of importance because of the distinctive typological development and the innovative value which was expressed by the authoritative Catholic magazine Het Gildenboek; it is of importance as part of a larger whole that is of cultural-historical, architectural-historical and urban planning significance as the first Catholic cemetery in Tilburg.
