PAVILJOEN, uit 1938 onderdeel van de Constant Rebeque kazerne, ontworpen door de Genie onderleiding van J. Zwart.
Omschrijving
Paviljoen, gebouwd als keuken, bestaande uit een samengestelde bouwmassa op rechthoekige plattegrond. Het heeft een drielaags gedeelte op L-vormige plattegrond waaraan een tweelaags gedeelte is toegevoegd. Haaks op dit tweelaags gedeelte is een kleine nlaagse bouwmassa onder zadeldak geplaatst. Het geheel is uitgevoerd in baksteen, voorzien van een samengesteld schilddak met overstek, gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Hierin was oorspronkelijk het badhuis gevestigd.
Het pand heeft samengestelde ramen met metalen kozijnen, voorzien van een roedeverdeling.
Waardering
Het paviljoen is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een bestuurlijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de stichting van kazernementen in of nabij de grote steden en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de kazernes. Architectuurhistorisch is het van belang vanwege de zorgvuldig gedetailleerde stijlvormen die door debureaus der genie kort voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd toegepast en wegens het materiaalgebruik. Het gebouw is van belang vanwege de situering, verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de stad. Het object is belangrijk vanwege de gaafheid van in- en exterieur.

Description
Pavilion, built as a kitchen, consisting of a composite building mass on a rectangular floor plan. It has a three-storey section on an L-shaped floor plan to which a two-storey section has been added. At right angles to this two-storey section a small one-storey building mass is placed under a gabled roof. The whole is executed in brickwork, provided with a composite hipped roof with overhang, covered with improved Dutch tiles. Originally the bathhouse was located therein.
The building has composite windows with metal frames, provided with glazing bars.
Valuation
The pavilion is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as an example of an administrative development, namely the establishment of barracks in or near large cities and as an example of the typological development of barracks. From an architectural-historical point of view it is of importance because of the carefully detailed stylistic forms applied by the Engineering corps bureaux shortly before the Second World War and because of the use of material. The building is of importance because of its location, connected with the development of the city. The object is important because of the integrity of interior and exterior.
