Inleiding
Het ONTVANGSTGEBOUW op de Isralitische begraafplaats van de I.B.V.A.-Frechie-stichting dateert uit 1924 en werd gebouwd ter gelegenheid van het 40-jarig bestaan van de begrafenisvereniging. Het eenvoudige verenigingslokaal in Traditionalistische vormen, op globaal vierkante plattegrond, werd in 1984 ter gelegenheid van het 100-jarig bestaan van de begravenisvereniging gerestaureerd.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaags verenigingsgebouw bestaat uit een hoog centraal deel onder gekruisd zadeldak met verbeterde Hollandse pannen, waarin de ontvangsthal en -zaal, met aan de noordelijke zijde een lage aanbouw, bestaande uit een toiletgebouw. Het is opgetrokken in baksteen, met vlechtingen in de steile, aan alle vier zijden uitgevoerde topgevels. De ijzeren rondboogvensters zijn gedeeltelijk vervangen door grof gedetailleerde houten exemplaren. De vensters in de westelijke gevel zijn voorzien van een hardstenen latei, waarboven een met baksteen mozaek gevulde rondboogboogtrommel. Hier bevinden zich twee paneeldeuren, voorzien van een halfrond bovenlicht met vorktracering. In de topgevel en oculus met davidster. Aan de oostelijke zijde is de oculus dichtgezet. In het interieur zijn onder meer van belang de paneeldeuren met glaspanelen, de houten lambrizering, de gemetselde schouw en de boven de deur naar de hal aangebrachte marmeren plaquette met opschrift: "1884-1924 / ter gelegenheid van het veertig jarig bestaan / der vereeniging / is dit gebouw ten geschenke aangeboden / door de leden en contractanten". Aan de achterzijde bevindt zich een eenvoudig vooroorlogs, aangebouwd toiletgebouw onder platdak, met oorspronkelijke betegelingen, paneeldeuren en sanitair.
Waardering
Het ONTVANGSTGEBOUW van de begraafplaats is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontwikkeling van de joodse grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang door de verzorgde detaillering. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een begraafplaats, die cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch van belang is als manifestatie van de geschiedenis van de joodse grafcultuur over onze landsgrenzen. The RECEPTION BUILDING at the Israelite cemetery of the I.B.V.A.-Frechie foundation dates from 1924 and was built on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the burial association. The simple association hall in Traditionalist forms, on a roughly square plan, was restored in 1984 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the burial association.
Description
The single-storey association building consists of a high central section under crossed gabled roof with improved Dutch tiles, containing the reception hall and hall, with on the northern side a low extension, consisting of a toilet building. It is constructed in brick, with basketweave patterns in the steep, executed on all four sides pitched gables. The iron round arch windows have been partly replaced by roughly detailed wooden examples. The windows in the western gable are provided with a stone lintel, above which a round arch vault filled with brick mosaic. Here are two panel doors, provided with a semi-circular fanlight with decorative tracery. In the pitched gable an oculus with Star of David. On the eastern side the oculus is filled in. In the interior, among other things, the panel doors with glass panels, the wooden wainscoting, the brick fireplace and the marble plaque mounted above the door to the hall with inscription: "1884-1924 / on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary / of the association / this building was offered as a gift / by the members and contractors" are of importance. At the rear there is a simple pre-war attached toilet building under flat roof, with original tilework, panel doors and sanitary fittings.
Valuation
The RECEPTION BUILDING of the cemetery is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, namely the development of Jewish grave culture; it is also of importance for typological development. It has architectural-historical significance through careful detailing. It has ensemble values as part of a cemetery, which is of cultural-historical and architectural-historical importance as a manifestation of the history of Jewish grave culture beyond our country's borders. It has been preserved in good condition and is extremely rare.
