Inleiding.
De POORT op de Israëlitische begraafplaats van de I.B.V.A.-Frechie-stichting, staande aan de Noordweg 36, bestaat uit een bakstenen muur met een door een forse rondboog overdekte doorgang en een eenvoudig na-oorlogs hekwerk. De poort is een ontwerp in Overgangsstijl van de architect Gust. Fierens en dateert uit 1924.
Omschrijving.
De eenvoudige bakstenen muur met rondboogvormige, getrapte doorgang heeft een gecementeerde plint en is voorzien van smalle hoge lichten en lisenen. In de muur bevinden zich verschillende gedenkstenen, onder meer een hardstenen steen met de inscriptie: "Alles gaat naar een plaats / alles komt van stof / en keert tot stof weder / Pred. III-20", en een eveneens hardstenen steen met de tekst: "Gust. Fierens / Archt 1924". Aan de zijde van de begraafplaats is de muur voorzien van kleine steunberen.
Waardering.
Het poortgebouw van de begraafplaats is van algemeen belang.
Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontwikkeling van de joodse grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang door de verzorgde detaillering.

The simple brick wall with round-arch-shaped, stepped passage has a rendered plinth and is provided with narrow tall lights and pilasters. In the wall are found various memorial stones, among others a hardstone stone with the inscription: "All things go to one place / all things come from dust / and return to dust again / Eccles. III-20", and likewise a hardstone stone with the text: "Gust. Fierens / Archt 1924". On the side of the cemetery the wall is provided with small buttresses.
