Inleiding.
De POORT van de Israëlitische begraafplaats van de I.B.V.A.-Frechie-stichting, staande aan de Putseweg (genummerd No. 34), dateert uit 1924 en bestaat uit twee bakstenen getrapte pijlers met aangrenzend muurwerk, en een smeedijzeren tweedelig hekwerk. Het gebouwtje vertoont Expressionistische vormen.
Omschrijving
De POORT is gemetseld in machinale baksteen en is geleed door lisenen. In de pijlers ter weerszijden van het hekwerk zijn twee hardstenen platen ingemetseld, respectievelijk voorzien van de inscripties: "Alles gaat naar een plaats / alles komt van stof / en keert tot stof weder / Pred. III-20", en "Deze poort is aangeboden / door de familie David Zinger / ter nagedachtenis van wijlen / mevr. Flora Zinger Jessurun Lobo / overl. te Antwerpen op 21 Jan. 1924 / Antwerpen Mei 1924".
Het tweedelige hekwerk is van smeedijzer. In het werk zijn de letters I-B en V-A opgenomen, alsmede davidsterren. Van de poort leidt een pad met klinkers en een laanbeplanting van platanen en rododendrons naar het onverharde plein met aula en ontvangsthuis.
Waardering
De POORT van de begraafplaats is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontwikkeling van de joodse grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang door de verzorgde detaillering. Description
The GATE is built in machine brick and is articulated by pilasters. In the piers either side of the gate are two hardstone plaques set in the masonry, respectively provided with the inscriptions: "All things go to one place / all things come from dust / and return to dust again / Eccles. III-20", and "This gate is presented / by the family David Zinger / in memory of the late / Mrs. Flora Zinger Jessurun Lobo / died in Antwerp on 21 Jan. 1924 / Antwerp May 1924".
The two-part gate is of wrought iron. In the work are incorporated the letters I-B and V-A, as well as Stars of David. From the gate leads a path with clinker bricks and a tree-lined avenue of plane trees and rhododendrons to the unpaved square with hall and reception building.

The GATE of the cemetery is of general interest. The building has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, namely the development of Jewish cemetery culture, it is also of significance for typological development.
