Inleiding
De BOERDERIJ met Vlaamse schuur met middenlangsdeel en woonhuis met ingezwenkte lijstgevel behoort bij het complex Schoutsweg 2 in de gemeente Bernisse. Het woonhuis is in 1880 in Eclectische stijl vernieuwd. De vierbeukige schuur is gebouwd in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant. Het betreft één van de grootste boerderijen in de regio, met vierbeukige schuur. In het middendeel werd gedorst en in de tas het hooi opgeslagen. In de zijbeuken werd het vee gestald.
Het complexonderdeel is nauwelijks gewijzigd. In het linker dakschild is een dakkapel met plat dak aangebracht.
Omschrijving
De boerderij bestaat uit een achterhuis in de vorm van een Vlaamse schuur en een deels onderkelderd voorhuis, beide op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het woonhuis is voor het rechter deel van de voorgevel van de schuur geplaatst. Beide volumes hebben één bouwlaag onder een afgewolfd zadeldak. De schuur is met riet gedekt, het woonhuis met gesmoorde tuiles du Nord. Op de nokuiteinden van het woonhuis zijn opgemetselde schoorstenen aangebracht, met platte afdekking en windvaan. Het woonhuis is voorzien van geprofileerde houten gootlijsten op klossen. De gevels van de schuur en de voorgevel van het woonhuis zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen in kruisverband. In de voorgevel van de schuur zijn vlechtingen aangebracht. De zijgevels van het woonhuis zijn van gele baksteen in kruisverband. In deze gevels zijn de segmentbogen boven de vensters in rode baksteen, evenals in de voorgevel. Onder de bogen zijn vensters met T-schuiframen, die met okerkleurige persiennes zijn behangen. In de linker zijgevel bevinden zich enkele smallere schuifvensters zonder middenstijl. Het houtwerk dat de ramen omlijst is in de hoeken afgerond. De gevels hebben een lage uitgemetselde plint. De ingezwenkte voorgevel is bekroond door een geprofileerde kroonlijst op negen consoles. Er zijn tevens consoles aangebracht op de smalle uiteinden van de kroonlijst. De kwartcirkelvormige bovenzijde van de ingezwenkte geveldelen is afgedekt met een hardstenen deklijst.
De entree met segmentboogvormig bovenlicht in de voorgevel is omlijst door deels uit hout gesneden, deels gepleisterde pilasters, met rozetten en panelen, en een kroonlijst op consoles. Daarboven is het venster tevens omlijst met pilasters en een kroonlijst. De velden boven de entree en onder het venster zijn gedecodeerd met rozetten. Boven de segmentbogen van de vensters liggen gepleisterde geprofileerde lijsten op consoles, voorzien van een kuif in het midden.
De gevels van de schuur zijn voorzien van grote dubbele openslaande wagendeuren in een kozijn met korbelen, tweedelige staldeuren onder een segmentboog en halfronde ijzeren vensters, waarvan het grotere formaat in de topgevels is aangebracht en het kleinere formaat in de lage zijgevels van de stallen.
De symmetrische voorgevel (zuidzijde) van het woonhuis staat rechts voor de asymmetrische voorgevel van de schuur. De voorgevel van het woonhuis is vijf traveeën breed. In de middentravee staat de dubbel openslaande paneeldeur met segmentboogvormig bovenlicht. In de overige traveeën en in de drie gevelopeningen in de top van de gevel bevinden zich vensters.
In de asymmetrische voorgevel van de schuur is in een rechtgesloten kozijn met korbelen een dubbele openslaande wagendeur geplaatst. Ter rechter zijde bevindt zich een smallere deur. Geheel links in de gevel staat een staldeur. Circa een meter boven de grote wagendeur en in de top van de gevel bevinden zich halfronde vensters met radiale roedenverdeling in de gietijzeren ramen. De schuur heeft een asymmetrische achtergevel.
De asymmetrische linker zijgevel bestaat uit de teruggelegen en hoog opgemetselde gevel van het woonhuis en de lage, langgerekte gevel van de schuur. In de woonhuisgevel zijn vijf vensters aangebracht. De twee rechter vensters zijn smaller en zonder middenstijl in de schuiframen. De schuurgevel wordt gekenmerkt door een ritmische afwisseling van stalvensters en staldeuren.
De asymmetrische rechter zijgevel bestaat uit de hoog opgemetselde gevel van het woonhuis en de in hetzelfde vlak liggende lage en langwerpige stalgevel van de schuur. In de gevel van het woonhuis zijn in de linkerhelft twee vensters met persiennes geplaatst. In de rechter helft staan vlak naast elkaar twee vensters met een kruisvormige roedenverdeling in het schuifraam. De schuurgevel is voorzien van een ritmische afwisseling van stalvensters en staldeuren.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde.

The farmhouse consists of a rear building in the form of a Flemish barn and a partly cellared front house, both on a rectangular ground plan. The dwelling house is positioned in front of the right part of the front facade of the barn. Both volumes have one storey under a barrel-vaulted gabled roof. The barn is thatched with reed, the dwelling house with Flemish tiles. Brick chimneys with flat capping and weather vane are built up at the ridge ends of the dwelling house. The dwelling house is provided with profiled wooden gutter mouldings on corbels. The facades of the barn and the front facade of the dwelling house are constructed of red brickwork in header bond. Plaiting has been applied in the front facade of the barn. The side facades of the dwelling house are of yellow brickwork in header bond. In these facades the segmental arches above the windows are of red brickwork, as in the front facade. Below the arches are windows with T-sash frames, hung with ochre-coloured blinds. In the left side facade are some narrower sash windows without central stile. The woodwork framing the windows is rounded at the corners. The facades have a low built-up plinth. The set-back front facade is crowned by a profiled cornice on nine corbels. Corbels have also been applied on the narrow ends of the cornice. The quarter-circle-shaped top of the set-back facade sections is covered with a hard stone coping moulding.
The entrance with segmental-arched fanlight in the front facade is framed by partly wood-carved, partly plastered pilasters, with rosettes and panels, and a cornice on corbels. The facades of the barn are provided with large double-leaf carriage doors in a frame with corbels, two-part stable doors under a segmental arch and half-round iron windows, of which the larger size is installed in the gable ends and the smaller size in the low side facades of the stalls.
The symmetrical front facade (south side) of the dwelling house stands to the right in front of the asymmetrical front facade of the barn. The front facade of the dwelling house is five bays wide. In the central bay stands the double-leaf panelled door with segmental-arched fanlight. In the other bays and in the three gable openings in the top of the facade are windows.
In the asymmetrical front facade of the barn a double-leaf carriage door is placed in a straight-edged frame with corbels. On the right side is a narrower door. Far left in the facade stands a stable door. Approximately one metre above the large carriage door and in the top of the facade are half-round windows with radial glazing bars in the cast-iron frames. The barn has an asymmetrical rear facade.
The asymmetrical left side facade consists of the set-back and high-built facade of the dwelling house and the low, elongated facade of the barn. Five windows are installed in the dwelling house facade. The two right windows are narrower and without central stile in the sash frames. The barn facade is characterised by a rhythmic alternation of stable windows and stable doors.
The asymmetrical right side facade consists of the high-built facade of the dwelling house and the low and elongated stable facade of the barn lying in the same plane. In the facade of the dwelling house two windows with blinds are placed in the left half. In the right half stand two windows close beside each other with a cruciform glazing bar division in the sash frame.
