Inleiding
GRAFMONUMENT en grafkelder van de familie Terwindt. Bijgezet zijn onder meer Th.M. Terwindt (1824-1884) en C.A. van Roosmalen (1795-1891). Het monument werd in 1884 in Eclectische vormen vervaardigd door J. Bolsius uit 's-Hertogenbosch. Het graf is gelegen aan dde westelijke zijde van de bisschopkapel in sectie 21-13-01-03.
Omschrijving
Het hardstenen grafmonument bestaat uit een grafplaat met als inscriptie: grafstede der familie Terwindt. Hiernaast is een eenvoudige tombe gelegen met een driezijdig afgeschuinde grafplaat met stenen kruis bovenop. Aan het hoofdeinde bevindt zich een forse stèle op vierkante grondslag die bekroond wordt door een urn met doek. De stèle loopt taps toe tot een insnoering waarboven zich een uitspringende bovenbouw met frontons bevindt. Hierop is de urn geplaatst. Aan de voorzijde luidt de inscriptie: "onder de schaduw des heiligdoms in afwachting der zalige verrijzenis rusten hier ..". Aan de zijkanten zijn de namen der overledenen in inscripties vermeld. De signatuur bevindt zich aan de linkerzijkant van de stèle.
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf heeft kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de kwaliteit van de toegepaste eclectische ornamentiek. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

GRAVE MONUMENT and grave vault of the Terwindt family. Buried here are among others Th.M. Terwindt (1824-1884) and C.A. van Roosmalen (1795-1891). The monument was manufactured in 1884 in Eclectic forms by J. Bolsius from 's-Hertogenbosch. The grave is situated on the western side of the bishop's chapel in section 21-13-01-03.
Description
The sandstone grave monument consists of a grave slab with the inscription: burial place of the Terwindt family. Next to it is a simple tomb with a three-sided bevelled grave slab with a stone cross on top. At the head end there is a substantial stele on a square base which is crowned by an urn with cloth. The stele tapers to a constriction above which there is a protruding superstructure with pediments. The urn is placed on this. On the front side the inscription reads: "under the shadow of the sanctuary awaiting the blessed resurrection rest here ..". On the sides the names of the deceased are given in inscriptions. The signature is situated on the left side of the stele.
Valuation
The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic burial culture, and it is moreover of importance as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave has art-historical importance because of the quality of the applied eclectic ornamentation. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence. It has remained well preserved and is typologically rare.
