Omschrijving
Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT, opgericht voor M.H.L.J. van Banning-Bogaerts (+ 20-2-1897), L.W.L.E. Bogaerts (zestien jaren) en L.J.C. Bogaerts (+ 1915). Typologisch zeldzaam dubbelgraf met dubbele stèle (1897) in Eclectische vormen. De tombe werd in 1915 vervaardigd door P.L. Janssen. Het graf is gelegen ten westen van de bisschopskapel in sectie 21-13-02-13.
Omschrijving.
Graf bestaande uit een door hardstenen voetplaten omgeven tombe met aan het hoofdeinde twee, vrijwel identieke stèles. Op de voetplaten zijn acht hardstenen paaltjes geplaatst die met ijzeren schakelkettingen verbonden waren. Hiervan zijn nog slechts resten bewaard. De tombe heeft een iets afgeschuinde grafplaat met inscripties van de namen der overledenen. Op de grafplaat is een eenvoudig stenen kruis gelegd. Tegen de achterzijde van de tombe zijn de twee stèles naast elkaar geplaatst. Beide hebben een rechthoekige grondslag en lopen naar boven taps toe. In het midden hebben ze een insnoering. Aan de bovenzijde bevindt zich een omgaande lijst met segmentboog aan de voorzijde. De linkerstèle heeft een kalkstenen bovenbouw met een kruis dat met een doek omwikkeld is. Deze bovenbouw ontbreekt bij de rechterstèle. Onder de segmentboog links bevindt zich de volgende inscriptie: Waarom toch moest de dood zulk een bittere en vroege scheiding te weeg brengen. Onze gedachten zijn niet de gedachten van god en zijne wegen zijn niet de onze. De signatuur bevindt zich aan de rechtervoorkant van de tombe.
Waardering. Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf is zeldzaam en heeft kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de kwaliteit van de toegepaste eclectische ornamentiek. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

GRAVE MONUMENT, erected for M.H.L.J. van Banning-Bogaerts (+ 20-2-1897), L.W.L.E. Bogaerts (sixteen years) and L.J.C. Bogaerts (+ 1915). Typologically rare double grave with double stele (1897) in Eclectic forms. The tomb was made in 1915 by P.L. Janssen. The grave is located to the west of the bishop's chapel in section 21-13-02-13.
Description.
Grave consisting of a tomb surrounded by hard stone base plates with two, virtually identical stelae at the head end. On the base plates are eight hard stone bollards which were connected with iron link chains. Only remnants of these are preserved. The tomb has a slightly sloping grave slab with inscriptions of the names of the deceased. On the grave slab is a simple stone cross. Against the rear of the tomb the two stelae are placed side by side. Both have a rectangular base and taper towards the top. In the middle they have an indentation. At the top there is a moulding running around with a segmental arch on the front. The left stele has a limestone upper structure with a cross wound with a cloth. This upper structure is absent on the right stele. Below the segmental arch on the left is the following inscription: Why did death have to bring about such a bitter and early separation. Our thoughts are not the thoughts of God and His ways are not ours. The signature is located on the right front side of the tomb.
Valuation. The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, and it is also of importance as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave is rare and has art-historical importance because of the quality of the applied eclectic ornamentation. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence. It has been preserved in good condition and is typologically rare.
