Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT voor F.G. van Goch (1831-1894) en diens vrouw Cath. van Orimond (1837-1896). Het sobere grafmonument is in 1894 in Eclectische vormen opgericht en bevindt zich aan de linkerzijde van de bisschopskapel in sectie 21-11-01-08.
Omschrijving.
Het hardstenen grafmonument bestaat uit een sarcofaag die omgeven wordt door hardstenen voetplaten waarop zes lage stenen paaltjes geplaatst zijn. De sarcofaag bevindt zich op een geprofileerd basement en rust op vier gecanneleerde, voluutvormige steunklemmen die tevens de deksel aan de randen omsluiten. De klemmen zijn geornamenteerd met een gestileerd bloemmotief. De sarcofaagdeksel loopt aan alle zijden schuin af. Bovenop is een breed, ongeornamenteerd stenen kruis gelegd.
Waardering. Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

GRAVE MONUMENT for F.G. van Goch (1831-1894) and his wife Cath. van Orimond (1837-1896). The sober grave monument was erected in 1894 in Eclectic forms and is located on the left side of the bishop's chapel in section 21-11-01-08.
Description.
The hard stone grave monument consists of a sarcophagus surrounded by hard stone base plates on which six low stone bollards are placed. The sarcophagus is situated on a moulded basement and rests on four fluted, volute-shaped support clamps which also enclose the lid at the edges. The clamps are ornamented with a stylized flower motif. The sarcophagus lid slopes away on all sides. On top is a broad, unornamented stone cross.
Valuation. The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, and it is also of importance as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence. It has been preserved in good condition and is typologically rare.
