Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT voor de familie Rouppe van der Voort. Omstreeks 1900 in Eclectische vormen vervaardigd door Dobbe en Van Pelt. Het monument met onderliggende grafkelder bevindt zich ten westen van de bisschopskapel in sectie 21-13-01-09.
Omschrijving.
Grafmonument op rechthoekige grondslag, bestaande uit een door een hardstenen voetplaat met hoekpaaltjes omgeven, afgeschuinde tombe met grafplaat. Hierop bevindt zich de stèle die bekroond wordt door een wit kalkstenen beeld van een op een zuil leunende, treurende vrouwenfiguur. Op de grafplaat is een groot marmeren kruis met bloemenkrans neergelegd. In de grafplaat zijn verder de namen der bijgezetten uitgehakt. De vierkante hoekpalen zijn opvallend fors en circa 90 cm hoog. Ze zijn onderling verbonden door ijzeren schakelkettingen. De stèle is getrapt van opzet en heeft in de bovenste geleding aan drie zijden inschriften. Voorop: Laatste rustplaats van de familie Rouppe v.d. Voort, R.I.P. Aan de zijkanten: "Sub umbra alarum tuarum protege illos Domine Jesu." en "In pace idipsum dormiant et requiescant.". De stèle wordt bekroond door een kalkstenen beeld van een treurende staande vrouwenfiguur die op een afgebroken zuil leunt en haar hoofd met de hand ondersteunt. Ze is gekleed in een lang geplooid gewaad en heeft een lauwerkrans in de rechterhand.
Het grafmonument is rechts op de voetplaat gesigneerd.
Waardering.
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf is van belang vanwege de plaats die de sculptuur inneemt binnen het oeuvre van de Bossche architect/beeldhouwers H.C. Dobbe en Van Pelt. Het graf heeft kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de toegepaste eclectische vormgeving. Grave monument on a rectangular ground plan, consisting of a chamfered tomb surrounded by a hardstone base plate with corner posts, with grave plate. Upon this stands the stele which is crowned by a white limestone statue of a grieving female figure leaning on a column. A large marble cross with floral garland is laid upon the grave plate. The names of those buried are further carved into the grave plate. The square corner posts are notably substantial and approximately 90 cm high. They are interconnected by iron chain links. The stele is stepped in design and has inscriptions on three sides in the upper section. Front: Last resting place of the Rouppe v.d. Voort family, R.I.P. On the sides: "Sub umbra alarum tuarum protege illos Domine Jesu." and "In pace idipsum dormiant et requiescant.". The stele is crowned by a limestone statue of a grieving standing female figure leaning on a broken column and supporting her head with her hand. She is dressed in a long pleated garment and holds a laurel wreath in the right hand.
