Inleiding
Katholieke BEGRAAFPLAATS uit 1862, deel uitmakend van het rooms-katholiek kerkelijk complex St. Laurentius. De circa 16 meter achter (W) de kerk gelegen begraafplaats wordt door een muur met toegangshek gescheiden van het Stroomerlaantje. Aan de zuidkant grenst de begraafplaats aan de pastorietuin, aan de westzijde aan de Molentocht en aan de noordkant aan het Kerkenbos. In 1985 en 1996 is de begraafplaats in noordelijke richting vergroot ten koste van het Kerkenbos.
N.B. De latere uitbreidingen van de begraafplaats vallen buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Begraafplaats bestaande uit een in oorsprong nagenoeg vierkant (ca. 35 m breed en 37 m diep) terrein dat vooraan circa 1,30 meter boven het maaiveld uitsteekt en naar achteren toe licht oploopt tot circa 1,60 meter boven het maaiveld. Rond dit opgehoogde terrein bevindt zich op maaiveldhoogte een pad dat aan de voorzijde (O) verhard is met fijn grind en schelpen en door een gemetselde muur met toegangshek gescheiden wordt van het Stroomerlaantje. De begraafplaats wordt onderverdeeld door een eveneens met fijn grind en schelpen verhard middenpad dat vanaf het toegangshek middenvoor geleidelijk oploopt en eindigt bij het bijna vier meter hoge priestergraf in het midden van de derde rij graven gerekend van achteren af. In de zuidoosthoek linksvoor zijn de kindergraven gesitueerd. Verder kent de begraafplaats een regelmatige indeling waarbij de graven geplaatst zijn in rechte rijen ter weerszijden van en haaks op het middenpad. De achterste rijen strekken zich uit over de volle breedte van de begraafplaats.
Waardering
De begraafplaats uit 1862 is van algemeen belang wegens cultuurhistorische waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het rooms-katholiek kerkelijk complex St. Laurentius en vanwege de funerair-historische en genealogische waarde. Verder vanwege de karakteristieke ligging en de visuele eenheid die de begraafplaats vormt met de aangrenzende in tuinhistorische eveneens waardevolle pastorietuin, Stroomerslaantje en Kerkenbos.

Catholic CEMETERY from 1862, forming part of the Roman Catholic church complex St. Laurentius. The cemetery, located approximately 16 metres behind (W) the church, is separated from the Stroomerlaantje by a wall with an access gate. On the south side the cemetery borders the rectory garden, on the west side the Molentocht and on the north side the Kerkenbos. In 1985 and 1996 the cemetery was enlarged in a northerly direction at the expense of the Kerkenbos.

Description
Cemetery consisting of originally an almost square (approximately 35 m wide and 37 m deep) plot of land that at the front projects approximately 1.30 metres above ground level and slopes gently upwards towards the rear to approximately 1.60 metres above ground level. Around this raised plot, at ground level, is a path which at the front (E) is surfaced with fine gravel and shells and is separated by a brick wall with access gate from the Stroomerlaantje. The cemetery is subdivided by a central path likewise surfaced with fine gravel and shells which rises gradually from the central access gate at the front and terminates at the almost four-metre-high priest's grave in the middle of the third row of graves counting from the rear. In the south-east corner to the left at the front are situated the children's graves. The cemetery further has a regular layout with graves placed in straight rows on either side of and perpendicular to the central path. The rear rows extend across the full width of the cemetery.
Valuation
The cemetery from 1862 is of general importance because of its cultural-historical value as a historically-functional component of the Roman Catholic church complex St. Laurentius and because of its funerary-historical and genealogical value. Further because of its characteristic location and the visual unity which the cemetery forms with the adjacent rectory garden, Stroomerslaantje and Kerkenbos, which are also valuable from a garden-historical perspective.
