Inleiding
BOERDERIJ 'Het klein hoefijzer' in ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant, daterend ca. 1850, met aangebouwd houten KARNHUIS. Het betreft een kleine boerderij met woongedeelte en driebeukige stal en tegen de langsgevel een aangebouwd karnhuis. De Laan van Koot was oorspronkelijk de toegangsweg tot de boerderij, maar is inmiddels ingebed in een villawijk. Aan de andere zijde is de boerderij anno 1999 nog gesitueerd in de weilanden. Naast het hoofdvolume en parallel eraan staat een schuur, die deels na brand in ca.1950 is vernieuwd. Het hoofdvolume is nauwelijks gewijzigd.
Omschrijving
Langhuisboerderij op rechthoekige plattegrond, onder wolfsdak met overstek over langgevels gedekt met rode Hollandse pannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen in kruisverband met strekken boven de vensters en deuren. Aan de noordoost zijde, waar zich het woongedeelte bevindt, is de boerderij onderkelderd. Tegen de zuidoostelijke langsgevel is een houten karnhuis onder tentdak, gedekt met gesmoorde pannen.
In zuidwestelijke kopgevel op begane grond drie opgeklampte houten deuren met vierruits bovenlicht, en op verdieping houten luik. In noordoostelijke gevel een keldervenster en op verdieping een venster. In langgevels 9-ruitsvensters en venster met vaste middenstijl en roedenverdeling, alle voorzien van luiken. De entree bevindt zich in zuidoostelijke langsgevel.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de architectuurhistorische en de situationele waarde:
- vanwege zijn betekenis voor de geschiedenis van de boerderijbouw;
- vanwege zijn zorgvuldig vormgegeven uiterlijk;

FARM 'Het klein hoefijzer' in traditional artisanal building tradition, dating around 1850, with attached wooden CHURN HOUSE. This is a small farm with dwelling section and three-aisled barn and against the long facade an attached churn house. The Laan van Koot was originally the access road to the farm, but has since been embedded in a villa district. On the other side, the farm in 1999 is still situated in the meadows. Next to the main volume and parallel to it stands a barn, which was partly renewed after a fire around 1950. The main volume has hardly been altered.
Description
Long house farm on a rectangular footprint, under a half-hipped roof with overhang over long facades covered with red Dutch tiles. The gables are constructed in red brick in English bond with lintels above the windows and doors. On the north-east side, where the dwelling section is located, the farm is cellared. Against the south-east long facade is a wooden churn house under a ridge roof, covered with muffled tiles.
In south-west gable wall on ground floor three battened wooden doors with four-paned fanlight, and on the upper floor wooden shutter. In north-east gable wall a cellar window and on the upper floor a window. In long facades nine-paned windows and window with fixed centre mullion and glazing bars, all provided with shutters. The entrance is located in the south-east long facade.
