Inleiding
Voormalige OPZICHTERSWONING uit omstreeks 1905-1909, deel uitmakend van het complex psychiatrische inrichting Duin en Bosch. De ten behoeve van een van de opzichters van de psychiatrische inrichting Duin en Bosch gebouwde woning is ontworpen door architect F.W.M. Poggenbeek in de stijl van het Rationalisme. De woning is een gaaf voorbeeld van de stijl, waarin Poggenbeek de gebouwen van het complex Duin en Bosch heeft ontworpen. De woning ligt aan de dienstingang van het terrein bij de Zeeweg, even ten westen van de woning van de geneesheer-directeur. De woning is vrij gelegen in een bosrijke omgeving. Achter de woning staat een kleine houten SCHUUR.
Omschrijving
Op een L-vormige plattegrond, in halfsteens verband opgetrokken woning onder een afgewolfd, met rode bouletpannen gedekt zadeldak, met een over de uitbouw rechts tegen de linkerzijgevel doorlopend dakschild. Vanaf de middendorpels van de kozijnen zijn de gevels gepleisterd, met uitzondering van de strekken boven de kozijnen en een decoratieve band. De voorgevel (N) heeft op de begane grond twee schuifvensters met luiken, diagonaal beschilderd en in de teruggelegen uitbouw links een klein venster. Boven de genoemde sierband bevindt zich een gekoppeld kozijn. De oostelijke zijgevel heeft in de eenlaagse uitbouw een bolkozijn en in de linker gevelhelft een klein dichtgezet venster op de begane grond. In de kopse zuidkant van de uitbouw bevindt zich de achterdeur.
De achtergevel (Z) heeft op de begane grond een schuifvenster met luik en vierruits bovenlicht, en op de zolder een gekoppeld kozijn als in de voorzijde.
De westelijke zijgevel heeft de voordeur onder een bovenlicht en aan weerszijden een T-venster met luik en zesruits bovenlicht.
De houten schuur van gerabatte delen heeft een met rode bouletpannen gedekt zadeldak met windveren.
Waardering
De voormalige opzichterswoning uit 1905-1909 met bijbehorende schuur is van algemeen belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het ziekenhuiscomplex Duin en Bosch. Former SUPERINTENDENT'S HOUSE from around 1905-1909, forming part of the complex of the psychiatric institution Duin en Bosch. The house, built for one of the superintendents of the psychiatric institution Duin en Bosch, was designed by architect F.W.M. Poggenbeek in the Rationalist style. The house is a fine example of the style in which Poggenbeek designed the buildings of the Duin en Bosch complex. The house is located at the service entrance of the grounds at the Zeeweg, just west of the house of the medical director. The house is freely situated in a wooded setting. Behind the house stands a small wooden SHED.
Description
A house with an L-shaped floor plan, built in half-brick bond and covered by a hipped roof tiled with red machine-made clay tiles, with a roof panel running over the right extension along the left side gable. From the mid-rails of the windows, the façades are plastered, with the exception of the sections above the windows and a decorative band. The front façade (N) has two sash windows with shutters on the ground floor, diagonally painted, and a small window in the recessed extension on the left. Above the aforementioned decorative band is a coupled window. The eastern side gable has a curved window in the one-storey extension and a small sealed window on the ground floor in the left gable half. In the gabled south end of the extension is the back door.
The rear façade (S) has a sash window with shutter and four-paned fanlight on the ground floor, and a coupled window as on the front side on the attic storey.
The western side gable has the front door under a fanlight and on either side a T-window with shutter and six-paned fanlight.
The wooden shed with rabated boards has a hipped roof tiled with red machine-made clay tiles with wind vanes.
