Inleiding
Het GEMAAL van Beusichem naar Zoelmond, genaamd DE NEUST werd in 1926 gebouwd in traditionalistische trant met enige invloeden van de Amsterdamse School. Het ontwerp en de installatie werden verzorgd door het Landbouwhuis te Sneek. Het gemaal is vanaf 1869 ontstaan als het "Stoomgemaal van den dorpspolder Beusichem en Zoelmond". Het is gelegen aan de oostzijde van een sterke meander van de Linge ten westen van het dorp Tricht. Via het aan de noordzijde van de Lingedijk gesitueerde gemaal komen de Bisschopsgraaf en de Laaggraafsche Wetering op de Linge uit. Aan de oostzijde van Tricht bevindt zich een tweede gemaal dat de Linge verbindt met de Hooglandsche Wetering. De twee weteringen werden rond 1960 samengevoegd.
In 1926 werd het stoomgemaal vervangen door het huidige elektrische gemaal, vergelijkbaar met dat aan de oostzijde van Tricht. Van het oude gemaal resteren nog een tweetal gevelstenen, die in een van de gebouwen van het complex zijn opgenomen. De diverse onderdelen van het huidige complex zijn dus vanaf 1926 ontstaan. Onder de bescherming vallen uitsluitend het gemaal en de direct omringende en met de functie van het geheel samenhangende elementen, zoals het opmerkelijk gave interieur van de machinekamer en het 'basement' van het gebouw. Op de overige, van gemeentewege beschermde, complexonderdelen is de bescherming van rijkswege niet van toepassing.
Omschrijving
Het gemaalgebouwtje is vierkant en voorzien van een schilddak met rode verbeterde Hollandse pannen en een ontluchtingskoker op de nok. De ver overstekende goten zijn voorzien van een sierlijst. De VOORGEVEL van het gebouw heeft een middendeur met aan weerszijden een smal 3-ruits raam met een horizontale roedenverdeling. Onder het rechterraam bevindt zich een gevelsteen met daarop de volgende tekst "ANNO 1926 / DORPSPOLDER "TRICHT" GESTICHT ONDER BESTUUR VAN DE POLDERMEESTERS J.M. MERKENS, P.D. VAN BEUSIGHEM, A. HUIJGEN EN DE SECRETARIS / ONTVANGER C.H. MIDDELKOOP / ONTWERP EN INSTALLATIE "HET LANDBOUWHUIS SNEEK" TE SNEEK". De LINKER- de RECHTER- en de ACHTERGEVEL van het gebouwtje bevatten elk twee 6-ruits raampjes. Onder de schuingeplaatste bakstenen raamdorpels loopt een omlopende rollaag. In het INTERIEUR bevinden zich twee pompen. De tegelvloer is in het verleden vernieuwd. Tussen de begane grond en de kapverdieping is geen vloer aangebracht.

Introduction
The PUMPING STATION from Beusichem to Zoelmond, named DE NEUST, was built in 1926 in traditionalist style with some influences of the Amsterdam School. The design and installation were carried out by het Landbouwhuis in Sneek. The pumping station originated from 1869 as the "Steam Pumping Station of the Beusichem and Zoelmond polder". It is situated on the east side of a sharp meander of the Linge west of the village of Tricht. The small pumping station building is square and provided with a hipped roof with red improved Dutch pantiles and a ventilation pipe on the ridge. The extensively overhanging gutters are provided with an ornamental moulding. The FRONT FACADE of the building has a central door with on either side a narrow 3-pane window with horizontal glazing bars. Below the right window there is a facade stone bearing the following text "ANNO 1926 / POLDER "TRICHT" ESTABLISHED UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE POLDER MASTERS J.M. MERKENS, P.D. VAN BEUSIGHEM, A. HUIJGEN AND THE SECRETARY / RECEIVER C.H. MIDDELKOOP / DESIGN AND INSTALLATION "HET LANDBOUWHUIS SNEEK" IN SNEEK". The LEFT, RIGHT and REAR facades of the small building each contain two 6-pane small windows. Below the slanting brick window sills runs a continuous rolling course. In the INTERIOR there are two pumps. The tile floor has been renewed in the past. Between the ground floor and the roof truss floor no intermediate floor has been constructed.
