Omschrijving

Description

component B The COACH HOUSE is built on a composite ground plan and consists of a main volume of two storeys and an attic storey under a half-hipped roof with a higher pitched left roof slope. To the right, a volume of one storey and an attic storey adjoins, covered by a hipped roof, which is intersected by the main volume. The central section of this volume projects here with its own hipped roof, and comprises two storeys and an attic storey. This section contains the coachman's dwelling. The roof slopes are covered with red Romanesque/newly improved Dutch tiles and drainage takes place via roof gutters. Centrally on the ridge of the projecting hip roof of the coachman's dwelling stands a brick chimney. Along the right side gable runs a second flue. The gables with render are built in yellowish-brown brick in Norwegian bond. The windows are closed at the bottom primarily by a brick drip moulding and at the top by a roll course. The asymmetrical FRONT FACADE (west gable) has in the left gable section a double carriage door, closed at the top with a semicircular arch. The door is flanked by two virtually square small windows. In the same vertical axis is located in the second storey a semicircular arched loading door, with a small square side window on the left and a large window opening with double casement windows on the right. Below the half-hip end is a right-angled loading door, with two square side lights and a hoist installation. The gable is finished with bracing strips. The single-storey gable section on the right has a semicircular arched double door, equipped with glazing bars. In the front roof slope is a flat-topped roof dormer with two three-light casement windows installed. The RIGHT SIDE GABLE has a wide two-storey central section that in the first and second storey has two large window openings with composite frames with three lights in the first storey and three lights with fanlights in the second storey. The side lights have six-light glazing. The single-storey left gable section has two small square windows under a continuous brick drip moulding. In the roof slope is a roof window installed. The single-storey section on the far right has the same arrangement. The asymmetrically arranged REAR GABLE has in the first storey of the right gable section a double carriage door closed at the top with a semicircular arch. Above this is a balcony, which is supported by two wooden struts. On the storey this balcony is accessible via a semicircular arched window opening which is glazed and has double shutters. Small square windows are located to the left and right. Below the half-hip end three small square windows on a continuous drip moulding. In the single-storey left gable section is located slightly off-centre a semicircular arched door. The door opening is surrounded by four hardstone pieces. To the right of the door two small square windows under a continuous drip moulding and on the left a small square window. In the front roof slope a flat-topped roof dormer. To the right of the door is a stone block bearing the name G.G.F. van Everdingen and the date 18 March 1936. Against the LEFT SIDE GABLE stand four buttresses that extend to slightly above the midpoint of the storey and are sloped at the ends. Between these buttresses are installed under the roof edge three strips of four small windows, closed at the bottom with a brick drip moulding. In the roof slope are located four non-original roof windows. The austere INTERIOR contains among other things a large former apple cellar.

Valuation

COACH HOUSE (complex component B) from 1936

- Of architectural-historical value as a fine and good example of a coach house with coachman's dwelling in traditionalist style from the second half of the nineteen thirties. The coach house has a striking main form, which is characterised by an asymmetrical arrangement of the gables, a main form based on rural building craftsmanship and contemporary and distinctive detailing such as for example the brick drip mouldings running beneath multiple windows.

- Of urban planning value as a component of the complex that forms a characteristic part of the historically developed river region, where the complex forms the visual northern boundary of the village of Deil and is very visually distinctive in location, on an elevated site at the Linge. The complex is visible from a great distance.

- Of cultural-historical value as a component of the complex because of the purpose of the complex and because of the ancient history of the building site.
